last minute Solo Mission

Post by Miles » Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:46 pm

I realized since I dont have a job at the moment I might as well hit the playa. Im a virgin but have been reading up on here to prepare. Im planning on getting a ride via craigslist (from the SF bay area).

Do you think I should try to join a camp or just do it nomad style?

At this point, most camps are probably full. You sound like you're prepared to do it nomad-style, so hey... gopher it.

Wait a minute, Boijoi. Nobody can camp where someone else is already camping. At least not until they get those multi-level apartment tents perfected. The classic advice is to find a spot, go out and talk to the nieghbors to make sure you're compatable and that they don't have plans for that space and then set up your campsite.

There is also a ride share here.

Have you missed the 6 story hotel a group has set up the last two years? It's pretty fancy.

Are you talking about Vertical Camp or being snarky?

IMHO Vert Camp has a real dandy way of keeping a small footprint. Doesn't look to cheap to get out there though with all that scaffolding. There was some decent coverage in one of the BM documentary films recently made.
