plexiglass globe

Post by Rusted Iron » Tue Mar 02, 2004 7:58 pm

The nose of the rat needs to be lit, so... I am looking for a clear or red or even white plexiglass globe: The kind that gets screwed into a lighting fixture.

The limiting factor is that the diameter of the base can't be more than 4 inches. (I might be able to make do with a 5 or 6 inch diameter but not an 8 inch and that's all I've found, so far.)

Any useful suggestions would be appreciated.

Is frosted white ok?

I found some polycarbonate globes at one point but they were more expensive, naturally. Do you have a Tap Plastics near you?

Frosted white would be fine. I'm going to paint whatever I find red, anyway. When I checked Tap, last year before giving up, I didn't have any luck.

I'll check the link. Thanks.

Sorry about the link that doesn't actually lead to an order form.. find the one you like and punch the part number into the search field at
http://www.mcmaster.com/

I haven't figured out how to extract links to specific pages or parts on their site with the frameset intact.
