pardon the noobness... but whats the name of the propane instrument that has a string on it it, and while tapping the string it releases a burst of flame....
If you throw a cat out of a car window... is it kitty litter?

Since you said it's a stringed instrument, I'm almost certain this is not what you are looking for, but it seemed worth posting anyway.
