First Burn was Joyus

Post by JimmySun » Wed Sep 03, 2008 11:14 pm

I'm still feeling the energy of my first trip to the Playa. I knew it would be fun but I had no idea of the amazing creation of art cars, theme camps, and flaming shit.

The biggest surprise for me was to finally meet large numbers of like minded people who like to push physical & intellectual limits. Being around people who can talk at warp speed in a million different directions is so refreshing.

What an energizing experence. So many gifts being passed and instant deep fiendships formed. What a mystical place the desert. I had one fun night watching the sun come up as I rode the duck art car out to the temple. Arriving at Nirvana on a duck was such a great cosmic joke.

I loved the female fashons and meeting so many strong, beautiful, intelligent woman. Next year I want to make a tool belt and bring more costumes. I did improvise a makeshift tool belt for my cup and can see the benefits of always having a drinking cup at ready.

This was the best week of my life for non-stop joy. I met so many international burners and felt at home with them. I got to know a wonderful woman from France who was at her second burn. Vivian camped beside me and said her burn from last year kept her super charged until December. I'm hoping this years burn make positive reverberations in my life that will hold me over to next years burn.

The playa was so inspiring to me. Radical self-relaince is so great. Having a ranger call you an asshole for losing your water bottle on the playa was so beautifly refreshing and I did admit that I was indeed a big asshole, but at least I knew it.

I look forward to being part of this group of people who have unleashed their human spirit. I want to have fun, meet more burners, and figure out how to channel all of these awakening skills in me.

For the next burn I want to create and distribute open source plans for making cheap thermal solar on the playa on in the default world.

:D

It felt so good to be around burners for the first time. I was so blown away that there are so many people like me who love life, people, and pushing their limts in multiple diections. Kindred spirits of the world united!
