This dude, Darren M is ripping everyone off in premium to have small time fun and placed his video on YOUTUBE OF ALL PLACES.

It's fucking amazing.

People give me a world of shit when I work for them doing the right thing and taking care of their servers, the honest guy I am, the specialist I am and I get shit from people all the time.

This guy gets away with ripping people off and continues to do so.

This world sucks.

DVD, can you xplain the weird communications between "unsubscribed", fko Kamikaze Kelly and others about this mysterious down time at tribe? There was a bunch of violent communications around that...seemed really weird and threatening to me. Denial of service attack or something like that?

They said they were going to be down for 24 hours to do a software and hardware upgrade.

It will be 24 hours at noon.

But Bonoboway is up and I have some tribers there.

Ridiculous.

Im saddened because truthfully, theres not another site like it out there.

I await its return. Though, sadly, I will not be upgrading my membership. IMO this is the WORST time for it to of went down, and I think it could of been dealt with before this post burn onslaught. I wish I knew what the tribe guy was doing or not doing.....because it just seems more about lameness than uncontrollable. Someone correct me if Im wrong !!

will tribe admins give us a satisfactory answer as to what happened? It's either a collosal underfunding, christian fundamentalist inspired attack (ya, there's a fundy on the tribe admin) whatever, it's a disrespect of the value they have provided to so many for so long.

Is there any reason to believe that it's anything other than some trouble bringing the new code online? It's aggravating to be without Tribe, but I'm not surprised that it turned out to be more complicated than they had originally bargained for.

Until a little while ago they did have tribe.net redirected to an outage page. Right now it doesn't look like DNS is resolving at all so they are either in the process of removing the DNS redirect or they borked DNS when they tried to take it out.

Maybe we all may never know what happens next. during the tribe colo they say they damaged their SAN's.
To pull in a specialist in for that and how long it will take to fix that depending on how damaged they say it is.......

I do love the fact that the website your profile points to is your tribe.net profile and not your own sites. Oh, yes that is because your site is super duper special that no one can see it. If you want to create a social networking site, people kind of have to be able to see the thing first.

i find it strange that even their "fail whale" is now offline.

i think they should create a blog (e.g. on blogger) where they could post updates when the tribe.net site is down.

4 days off-line is bad. especially for a site that people rely upon to stay connected with friends. i don't trust tribe anymore, and i'll make sure i have direct emails from all my tribe friends, from now on.
