Because I just got all my rage for the day out on some idiot hippie in a separate thread I will give you the totally serious answer you seek: Burning Man is always a week long, and it always ends on Labor Day. So, figure out when labor day is in 2009, and BM will start a week before that. We now return you to your regularly scheduled snarkiness.

If it ends on labor day, that means it runs from August 31 to September 7th.
That seems pretty deep into September.

I can't remember what year it was, but my little sister's first burn happened during her birthday, and her birthday is September 6th. It's definitely happened before.

Yeah, that's right. It will gradually get shallower and shallower into September for the next 6 events when it will be August 25 to September 1 again.

It is shocking how regular it all seems.
Like clockwork or something.
Almost as if it was planned...

And Friday the 13th comes on a Sunday that month too.

The really disturbing thing is the date line.
It is already yesterday somewhere and tomorrow somewhere else.
That means there are people walking around today in Milwaukee that are already dead in Hong Kong.

the old Labor Day complaint again...

Post by magdalen23 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 4:49 pm

i still wish they'd change it at least one year, because so many freakin' great, creative souls are in the education business, and they can't do Labor Day. during that week/weekend, many of them are preparing to teach our kids, college students, and grad students to be bright, smart, creative, and educated.

in other words, teachers should be the target audience for the continued BORG agenda of taking over the world! we need 'em to become Burner cultists and then induct the children into the Burner way of thinking. within a decade, we would have a small army of glo-stick toting, body-painted, nudist, fire-eating, glittery, pomo poly homos marching across the American Dream. yeah!

2010--August 30 to September 6, Burn on September 4
2011--August 29 to September 5, burn on September 3
2012--August 27 to September 3, burn on September 1

Amazing what you can do with a simple algorhythm.

The sixties didn't have glow-sticks or LEDs.

ah. So that's why the hippies failed.

Let's hear it for the lack of glow sticks and leds! Otherwise we'd be living in the Hippie Distopia!

Where do you think a lot of the teachers came from?
You guys should get a clue what hippies were.

They should have gone into arbitrage.
