Put your links and url's for 2008 pics and media here....
I missed this year, sadly, and am very eager to see everyone's pictures and media - need me some vicarious Playa time. Just thought I'd post a request for links to everyone's pics in a new subject folder just for the 2008 event. Many thanks in advance, and hope to see you all up there in '09.

Anyone have a site where I can upload a HUGE gif I did of the man?
I walked around the LED circumference and every 10 paces (30' I guess, 3 lengths of the protective tubes encasing the LEDs) I took a pic of the man. Cropped to center all frames, and made a 360 degree GIF of the man.
The 480x640 GIF is just over 7.0 MB, and the 240x320 GIF is just over 2.0 MB.

My photos for you...
This is a link to my photography website. I put my favorite burning man photos on the "events" page, first album. It was my first time at bm, and definitely not my last! It was a challenge to carry around my camera, and I lost my old Kodak Easyshare with days of photos, but I was so happy to have these. They bring back so many memories, and I blew up the close up artsy ones from the Temple to decorate my massage room with. I want to share these with others to keep the glow burning. XOXO

More pictures from Burning Man 2008
Before I left for BRC this year, I registered the domain blackrock08.com so I could upload pictures from the playa for the folks back home. I did manage to get a few posted during the week but as I told people about the site, I had the idea of setting up a photo sharing gallery for all of us to use.
So I did!
If you go to www (dot) blackrock08 (dot) com you can look at my pictures (that I uploaded from BRC last week) and you can also follow the link to the gallery site and post your own pictures. This site is completely non-commercial and is affiliated with no services but my own website. There is a very minor registration process (username, password and email address) and your account will be activated immediately upon completing your registration so you can start posting pictures right away.
I have a fair amount of space and bandwidth to fool around with so I ought to be able to host this gallery indefinitely. The one thing that would be helpful is if you could size your pictures to 800 X 600 or similar size (I can handle big pics but the whole process gose a little smoother with smaller ones).
-Bill
P.S. Some quick instructions: 1) register. 2) click the 'gallery' link in the upper left area to go to the gallery and 3) open the sidebar and choose 'add items' to post. If you have any problems, email me off list and I'll help you out. Now, get posting!

i was a burgin this year. i rented a car and drove out with another designer from work...we had the time of our lives and will definitely return next year! we pitched a couple tents around 6:30 & i. the rv people rolled in mid-week to crack jokes about our camp, referring to it as camp minimalistic...ha. but we survived, and our tents were still standing after the 12-hour whiteout on monday.
most of these came out pretty touristy, but what can you do? i didn't take my camera out during the nights of debauchery because it didn't occur to me to do so at the time.
p.s. if you're the irish girl with the green skirt swinging in altered state, send me your email...i lost it : (

sent you a YIM message joshatdot... I am happy to provide free web space for BM-related materials. I own maybe 30 web servers and will always have plenty of space for burners.Joshatdot wrote:Anyone have a site where I can upload a HUGE gif I did of the man?

These are all the shots I took. I wish I had thought to bring a device to offload the memory stick so I could have taken more. I didn't want to buy additional memory sticks since the one I have is usually more than enough. Next time I will bring my laptop just to power it up and empty the stick!
I had a few shots of ladies in the altogether whose picture I took becuase of a cool (but very revealing) costume. I asked permission for the picture, but didn't ask permission to post to the ether so those are not there. Not like Photobucket would allow that sort of shot anyways.
Apparantly I did upload a long shot of the temple that did have a sun worshipper in the frame. I didn't know since she is about 1 cm tall in the shot and I had to blow the pic up like 10x to see her. But the crack team at Photobucket found her and flagged the shot as a violation of policy.
Just who are they paying to scan the zillions of pictures in this fashion?
Either way, enjoy!

Was your camp the one at Historical Marker 65 doing the hitchin's? If so the King and Queen of our camp, The Kingdom of Loafington, got hitched there. Sadly all I have are pictures of the event as that day was the day I was back at camp sitting in front of our big orange castle trying to come down from the night before. Therefore I was in no shape to attendsonic wrote:http://picasaweb.google.com/Sonic.Fire/Pictures#

Cool pictures Holly! You have a good eye for photography. I also like that you took the time out to place comments on many of them. Thanks! I enjoyed your photos as well, especially 'The Loafington Cabal' shot. I wish I would have rounded up all of my neighbors for a group photo...they were such great people. Actually I didn't meet anyone I didn't love talking to...everyone was so interesting and accepting.Rev_Sysyphus wrote:Cool pictures Holly! You have a good eye for photography. I wish I had taken more pictures at night (too busy having a good time to take pictures I suppose) and a few more of myself! There is little evidence that I was even there! What was especially a blunder on my part was not getting a picture of myself in this rather elaborate clerical robe my friend worked really hard to make for mehollywallydoodle wrote:Thanks! I suppose with so much going on it can be very easy to totally forget you have a camera and to sometimes use the thing. I am glad that in our camp of 9 people there were a couple of others who took pictures to add to what I did.
