You are wrong once again.MikeVDS wrote:Wonderphil, I wonder if you actually believe all the crap you post because it's complete B.S. (Well, 95%). I personally disagree with a lot of Obama's politics but all of the false characterizations just make you look like an idiot who has no original ideas. If you don't like him and want to convince people otherwise, fine, but I'd appreciate it if you used facts and backed them up. The whole echoing retarded radio show hosts, "Obama can't be criticized" rhetoric makes you look even more pathetic than those who make up that crap.
If you can't win by logic and specifics then attack me personally. 95% of my posts are BS? You are a person who unfairly exaggerates when you have no real facts to back up your claims. You may need serious therapy to teach you how to conduct a fair argument. I understand that I have said many things that you probably do not agree with. I also admit to sticking pins in the Obamanation cult just for my amusement. I think I am doing a public service, thank you very much.
In reality it is fair to say that 50 to 75% of my posts are facts, links to facts proving what the prior poster said was BS. Where the prior poster has made a false claim such as gyre with the claim (in my words now) that bush was withholding rubbers from African aid therefore creating aids (just say no). I suspect that You and many likeminded people are comforted to hear these false claims as long as it supports your opinion.
I would say another 20% to 45% of my posts are my opinions or opinions of others who I respect
The other 5% - 10% of what I say is BS or really jokes based on my opinions, such as my many digs at Obamination people which I do for my own amusement. BTW I really was LMAO at the one with cult leader Obama smoking a half pack of smokes at one a time. I need to email that one to all the people in my email list, a very good joke of a joke.
whoops, I'm am digging the Obamanation. I admit it is bullshit and I need to be very careful to hold my Bullshit level below 10%. I
Hope Obama does not get elected. With his cult followers he may be like Chaves in Venezuela. Combine socialism with black nationalism and I may end up in a oven.
Anyway for now I think it is funny.
I know I am not a diplomat.

GYRE my thread friend and OBAMINATION opponent: you have made a lot of claims without any citations to support your claims. I know a few "difference of opinion" burners on this thread such as MIKEVDS might like to hear your unsupported claims that support both of your beliefs, However this is not BRC , it is the default world, most reasonable, fair minded, open-minded people would like to see some proof in the way of links to supporting your opinion. Especially radical opinions. If you would provide links it would be helpful to people who may think you are talking BS. Not to say I am, in this case I have not even bothered to read your post I just assumed it was BS based on some of your past posts.gyre wrote:The republicans do more wrong, very simply.
Check corporate donations- Chemical industry 90-98% to republicans
And so on.
It does cut across party lines, but the republican agenda is openly anti-democracy.
That doesn't leave a lot of choice right now.
As for media bias, did you see the series started by a paper in the northeast on "contributions" and voting on corporate welfare bills.
PBS followed up with a series on it.
Completely crosses the line into bribery.
This practice crosses all party lines, though worse in some quarters.
It is the kind of intensive research few papers can afford.
They follow voting patterns.
A vote for a project is passed, followed by a big "campaign contribution" in a methodical, obvious pattern, in some cases within hours or minutes of the vote.
They started with one politician and found the practice widespread.
Not very subtle even.
All of congress needs reform.
Some media are still doing a sterling job and getting it published.
It is still up to the public to follow up.
All of the serious media is very underfunded and treated as entertainment now.
Many of the more glaring scandals never get covered due to funding and outright censorship now.
Check into the history of media ownership.
It is all a ghost of what we once had.
Check out the staff at a newspaper some time.
It's been cut 80% here.
Hugely profitable, no content.
Often they just don't have any staff to cover a story.
I have seen little of Moore's work, though at the media co-op, we screened one of his films and another film by Frontline to contrast the two.
The interesting thing is that Moore's film used the same facts and documentation to tell the same story.
Moore's was simply told in a more "republican" or sensational style.
Not to my taste, but the same story.
The vast mass of media seems to me to be yellow journalists of the worst ilk, from Rush Limbo (named after drug terms) to O'Reilly, seemingly all psychotic.
If republicans really represented anyone they would not need such a vast machine to try to cover up things.
Tell the same lies long enough, someone will swallow it.
Why do you think they can't even follow through on the easy stuff?
Do you want to understand welfare reform?
If you go to college, to try to get off food stamps, that's welfare fraud.
Why do you think that is?
It is not in the interest of the real power in the party for people to do well.
That machine has to keep talking, to keep dancing, to keep lying.
Too bad they will never let McCain clean house.
One has to wonder why he is in that party.
Even he had to cave to the radicals with Palin.
He is too leftist for them.
If they have their way, it will mean civil war or dictatorship.
Remember even Bush repudiated the official platform a few years ago.
BTW thank you for your thoughtful reply and links to your local situation. That was a great informative post with link and is what I am talking asking for.
I am not going to Mongo anytime soon and I am glad to hear that you are not on that spaceship too.
It also appears that both of us have to limit our posts to smaller bites that are more digestible and understandable by the proletariat masses such as MIKEVDS
I might get back to reading your long post later and actually posting on it

Tennessee Waltz was the nickname given to the most recent series of trials here for bribery and corruption.
Our clown college of public officials make Mongo look very sane.
He sure made the people giving him trouble look like idiots.
I love the 'No Dancing, Only Atonement' rule.
His stuff has been great performance art.

There is a lot of video out there too of politicians taking bribes and threatening witnesses with murder.
In contrast, we have Jacqueline Smith, protesting the destruction of homes for the poor and the civil rights museum in particular, for not doing anything constructive in Martin Luther King's memory.
She is a great lady and an impressive activist.
If you think you're politically active, meet her and be shamed.

I certainly hope you aren't REALLY as prejudiced as your comments make you appear. Oh, wait I forgot, black people aren't allowed at BM or to be president of the united states.wonderphil wrote:Dude,

If you don't like the republicrats, stop buying from the corporate robber barons that run our fascist government. I marched in the streets with thousands of people numerous times before the Iraqi invasion, but it made no difference. If the American public had stopped shopping at Chevron, Phillips, texaco, etc. until war was off the table, the invasion would not have happened. We can use that power to demand social and environmental justice. Everything you do is political! Shop small independent businesses. Re-distribute the wealth from the bottom up.
You are either part of the solution or you are part of the problem.

Notice in the above post I was talking about executive experience. duh, does this mean that because a person is black or part black that that person deserves to be president or any other job or position? Just because every leader you see on TV is black does not mean you need to elect a person because of his or her color. I said he was a black power orginizing person which is a fact. As such HE IS Not what we need. We need equality in all respects, AND it would be nice if we had equality on TV and in the movies too.
I certainly hope you aren't REALLY just another sorry misogynist worm , and or a white guilt, sheep, liberal worm.

Katha Pollitt's questions to the wolf-killer babe:
§ Suppose your 14-year-old daughter Willow is brutally raped in her bedroom by an intruder. She becomes pregnant and wants an abortion. Could you tell the parents of America why you think your child and their children should be forced by law to have their rapists' babies?
§ You say you don't believe global warming is man-made. Could you tell us what scientists you've spoken with or read who have led you to that conclusion? What do you think the 2,500 scientists of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change are getting wrong?
§ If you didn't try to fire Wasilla librarian Mary Ellen Baker over her refusal to consider censoring books, why did you try to fire her?
§ What is the European Union, and how does it function?
§ Forty-seven million Americans lack health insurance. John Goodman, who has advised McCain on healthcare, has proposed redefining them as covered because, he says, anyone can get care at an ER. Do you agree with him?
§ What is the function of the Federal Reserve?
§ Cindy and John McCain say you have experience in foreign affairs because Alaska is next to Russia. When did you last speak with Prime Minister Putin, and what did you talk about?
§ Approximately how old is the earth? Five thousand years? 10,000? 5 billion?
§ You are a big fan of President Bush, so why didn't you mention him even once in your convention speech?
§ McCain says cutting earmarks and waste will make up for revenues lost by making the tax cuts permanent. Experts say that won't wash. Balancing the Bush tax cuts plus new ones proposed by McCain would most likely mean cutting Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security. Which would you cut?
§ You're suing the federal government to have polar bears removed from the endangered species list, even as Alaska's northern coastal ice is melting and falling into the sea. Can you explain the science behind your decision?
§ You've suggested that God approves of the Iraq War and the Alaska pipeline. How do you know?
