And a reminder for all you other eplayans, do not post replies to commerce threads, point them out to me here and I'll go get 'em.
Thank you!

Agreed. I'd like to figure out a way to let him post but it would require a serious rule change and open the doors to all kinds of crap being advertised here.Toolmaker wrote:Blatant Commercial Venture

I think this is probably good for some and of interest to burners in general BUT, this is purely commerce and also in opposition to another principle ie "radical self reliance". While their intent may be honest and generally positive for the community they are working to also undermine the principles of our community. What happens if folks wind up without gear due to some unforseen problem? We all know shit happens and Mr Murphy is always on the watch for those that don't have their shit together.
From what I understand Tribe is open to commercial ventures and they should post there. Unless the ORG evolves and changes the communities guiding principles I have to player hate when I see something fucked.
PS Alot of their products are cheap overpriced crap from what I could see.. wayy overpriced IMO.

You're paying for the convenience. Just like 7-11 stores; or any store that will deliver for you. I was wondering if they would get flagged. I thought it was a good concept and would be a great help for 'some' people.Toolmaker wrote: PS Alot of their products are cheap overpriced crap from what I could see.. wayy overpriced IMO.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

This may be true but consider the ramifications if the operators were not there to open the distro center.. or if the distro center was destroyed or somesuch, even a delivery problem unforseen by the owners/operators could fuck alot of people. Radical Self Reliance is very important.. every time I tried to skate around that principle it's fucked me. Same goes for others that try to bend the "rules", usually there is a horror story at the end.jkisha wrote:You're paying for the convenience. Remember the folks that got nailed with that BRC airline snafu.. they will likely drive in next year if they are smart and their schedule is that tight again.
Plus we can't sell shit here PERIOD. This was wayy outside that grey area folks like to talk about.

Doesn't matter if it is useful or not, it is in direct violation of the no commerce policy. It is gone now.gyre wrote:Seems like it might be useful.Toolmaker wrote:http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic.php?t=27968
