Fire Sculpture

I am planning a mni-festival for next year and I would like to create fire sculpture... Does anyone know of good websites for beginners?

I would guess that its something artsy fartsy thats been sculpted that shoots fire. Could be anything from a barbie head to a zebra.

My work so far when I've been able to get into it has had questionable results. The sculpture part comes out OK but the fire just never seems to be what I initially imagine. I'm learning its all about trial and error. Old scool metal rules like starting with small holes and slots first help, just creep up on the openings until you get the flame the way you want.

I don't think I'll ever make something like Sepent Mother though.. those are some talented folks there, that thing always gives me a woody.

I remember this one gentleman who came to town as an artist in residence for the college. He did fire art down at the Muzeum of Art. He worked alot with propane and oxygen elements (adjusting the flow, etc.) It was crazy! He put propane through hoses into everything, like a sprinkler (3 -long bar garden type). The gas made it spin, and when lit, made a fuckin' fire cyclone. It was a good time at night
