Hiya Cookie,
glad you had a great virgin Burn. Let's face it; if you can't have a great time at BRC then there's not much hope for you as a human being.
As you're based in London you'll be able to get your fix of Burners throughout the year.
There's a fortnightly gathering at Burning Pub and various events and fund raisers throughout the year for both Burning Man and Nowhere projects.
Get yourself on the Playadust and London Burning mailing lists to keep yourself in the social loop.
There's also the London Decom which is due at the end of November/first weekend of December. Be sure to bring along some mates to introduce them to BM and get them hooked for 2009.
If you've got any other questions feel free to email me.

Hey Roamer!
Thanks for your reply. I'm happy with your insight that the experience can continue throughout the year! Ill be certain to check out your recommendations.
I heard about the unknown project in passing, but was unsure about how cool the experience would be in like with BM.
Yes, I'm a Londoner. I'm Heading over to check out the Thames Festival today. Not that this experience will be by any comparison, but I think its the best experience london has to offer!
Hopefully we will meet at one of the meetings soon too!
Thanks,
Cookie

London Decom 2008
For those of you not subscribed to Playadust, some early info.
London Decom this year is on Friday 5th December and the party will run from 9:00pm to 6:00am.
Venue is yet to be announced but it is spectacular, in central London and has LOTS of outdoor space too which means lots of flame fun.
Tickets will go on sale in mid-October via the Euroburners website http://euroburners.org
This is always an amazing party and even more so if you help to make it what it is. There'll be a volunteer meeting on Tuesday 14th October, 7pm at The Southwark Rooms, 60 Southwark St, SE1. Please come along and feel the love and joy from being part of the team that makes Decom the sparkling joy that it is. Last year's setup pics.
Or send a mail to [email protected]

London Decom
Hey Roamer,
I've not received my ticket as yet for this Fridays Decom. I was advised it would arrive in the post. Please could you advise me whom I need to reach out to, in order to follow up this matter.
Thanks

I'm a strange person.
But I know one day I'm going to change the world.
I'll start a movement and the only way to move will be with me.
You'll have never seen anything like this before.

UK Burners
Hi all, I'm heading out to Black Rock for my first Burn this year. I'd be keen to meet fellow Burners and join and help out a camp. If anyone's got room for a newbie drop me a mail.

Ride from Reno?
Hey fellow Brits.
First burn for me. I've got a camp sorted to stay with but I'm stumped in terms of getting a lift from Reno to Black Rock and back after the burn.
Are any of you driving from Reno and have spare space? I'd chip into petrol costs etc.
If no one is able; how easy would it be for me to share a ride? I've posted on eplaya about car sharing but had no luck. I'd only have a rucksack, but if it'd be possible I'd love to buy a bike in Reno and take that too.
Any input would be really welcome.
Reply here or e-mail me.
Thank you!

'ello,
London UK here and currently in the early stages of planning a 14 person trip to BM 2011 (our first). If there is any plans for London BM'ers to meet up and discuss topics such as 'really? we need *that* much water!?' or 'and how exactly are you supposed to cook a full English in the desert?' then please let me know; definitely like to chat thoughts/ideas/etc.
Cheers
