Yes there is. I don't know the whole of it, maybe it's in or around Taos. And it's been going on for 100s of years. (Catholic? Tribal American?)
Back when I was doing odd jobs, I had a client I used to drive to and from the airport and he always thought I was talking about this when I said "Burning Man" and I didn't realize so we had a few complete nonscence conversations on the subject.
