If you cook yer bacon with sterno it comes out pretty close to napalm prepared bacon but without the potentially harmful blast radius. As tempting as it may be, I wouldn't recommend sculpting with sterno prior to using it for cooking. It gets that 'smell of victory' all over everything when it explodes.

IMPORTANT TIP FOR FIRST TIMERS---> DO NOT pet the gate goat until you have gone to see the Golden Buddha and pulled the leaf with the fibers! There will be an awful lot of pressure to go strait for the goat, but trust me- use some common sense and no one will need to be sacrificed.

"Long pork"- is that like "fat back" or does it refer to the time required for preparation? Is it napalm specific?

Don't tell people that.
You'll ruin the entertainment.

Great smiley!
You should add that one to the smiley thread.

If you like tradition, long pig is considered a traditional dish.

Wow- great link! -and what a fantastic alternative to bacon on the playa! Imagine, a food source that stays fresh throughout the week without refrigeration (theoretically), and is readily available on the playa without the need to haul food in! This could also serve as the answer to the much talked about issue of BRC population control.

This is just wrong. We should tell him--he might actually go out to the desert--he could get hurt.

He's the truth.

It's fake. It's all fake.

The pictures you see come from a five, maybe six hour shoot that takes place every year on an old soundstage. We've got some big greenscreens and a whole lot of sand, sunlamps and great effects tecnicians.

Hell, the Man is totally CGI. The guys from PIXAR work on it.

It's really a big ad for a cooperative of artists. People see their stuff at 'Burning Man'(well, in the pictures) and prices shoot up.

So don't go out to the desert.

But, if you wanna be in the shoot submit your headshot and a short film. But be quick--they film in December.

Zapruder

-and yes, that is the exact same offer he got. The cast for the original moon landing was put together using a similar submission method, however the talent pool was limited to the Air Force to give that feeling of authenticity.

Truth is, Burning Man is as fake as Jesus. But the last 2000 years speak for themselves- the system works!
