It was a good party. I got there around noon to beat the traffic and lines. By 2:30 the line was around the block and up the overpass, you could see the end of the line from the party. How long did people have to wait? An hour?

If someone asks you for drugs, it's a cop.
If someone fucks you for drugs, it's not a cop.

think the line depended on what time you got there (duh) - we got there around 2ish and it only took about 15 minutes to get in.
It was alright... as always it's good to see the art cars and music and all of that, but too many freakin' ravers and the whole 'Burning Man in a tiny street' thing means I need decompression from Decompression.
A guy with a video camera was making a scene inside one of the camps - got upset when people told him to stop filming. I keep reminding myself when you have a city there are going to be people you don't like. Unfortunately I just don't like running into them. Sorry, sounding like an old codger this morning.

It was...
off
the
hook!!
We wanted to get there around noonish to beat the line and see everything, but damn those -pre-decom parties!! lol We were at this kickass sushi/dj/acro-yoga party up in the hills of Marin, then partied at a warehouse less than a mile from the Decom location.
Those 2 parties caused us not to wake up and get going until late, so we didn't make it to the event until almost 5pm. We were in the line on the overpass, so it took an hour to get in. So worth it though!! The vibe was amazing, every sound camp was spinning mad beats, and the only downside was that the sound camps had to shut down at 10?!?!?! We hung out with the dustdevil crew afterwards, and thats when all the jager and crown shots hit us. We were supposed to meet up with people at Retox, Second Sunday, and the End Up. Next thing you know, we're waking up in our hotel room, still in our fur coats and boots!! LOL
I'll post a few pictures later... Wish there were more events like it though... this waiting for so many months is bs...

As the saying goes; It only takes a few arseholes to ruin it.
My compliments go out to all who worked behind the scenes. You know who you are. That's one big party. I'd say it was well executed. More outhouses might be in order though. Naghty Zsu Zsu and the Strobe-a-scope(I don't know the official name). Very well done.
The problem I have is after 16 hours of getting the Tub and Tilt there, spinning as many people as possible, then starting to load the vehicles around midnight, finding multiple used cases of Nox bottles and other asst. shit deposited inside made me a little torqued. The coup de grace however, was that some f*cking arsehole felt it was just too cool to tag the Tub. Felt pen on canvas, it doesn't come out. Talk about disrespectful.

I had a great time @ Decom. The music was fabulous and the people amazing, especially at the Diner, we had a good time there.
I was disappointed in all the trash that was left behind though....... There was so much litter in the streets and park, it was kind of sad. I guess the Leave No Trace stamped on everyone's arm didn't do any good.
All in all, it was fabulous. It definitely has a different feel/energy than the playa, but still wonderful. This was my second SF Decom, I went in 2004 and had a blast too, and it was my 7th burn this year! I feel like Burning Man is becoming my life and I love it!

I recently was connected with a great group of burners who are now good friends, and they have inspired me to contribute and participate more in the Burning Man community than I had previously, and it really enhances and amplifies the experience to a whole new level!
That, and I'm a slow learner!

Party starts around 9pm....but they always need volunteers to help set up art works and fire displays!
There is also a day gig going on tomorrow before the party over at the Mangrove(1st and sierra street? just off of Virginia st.downtown), for anyone who was at the 07 burn...the tree's that were under the man, they are here in Reno till sometime in December. there will be poi/staff workshops, recycled art projects(hands on), drumming, pic-nic hangout area....all kinds of burner'ish stuff and all kinds of Burners to play with!
Basically a whole weekend of fun fun fun!
