So, Stewart mentions Burning Man and so according to AIIZ's divination he's going.

Ya gotta love the shoddy logic.

ISO did you listen to the bit? Stewart says "Now I know what I am doing for my summer vacation.." Sounds like he is planing on going to Burning Man to me.

So, since there was no "shoddy logic" do we still have something to love here?

I reported on this one hour earlier over in 2009 theme camps as I predict there will be a new camp this year called... "The Daily Show" and Jon will do a report on what happened that day at BRC. (what about colbert report?? Don't he go every where the Daily show goes?)

After he said he was going didn't he rip on the fact that it was in the desert and really hot? I sort of took it that he wasn't really going to go. But I certainly could be wrong.

He likes to reference something an audience member said during the Q&A as he starts the show. I guess someone tried to talk him into going next year and he was making fun of them.

I don't see him going. The show might send a reporter some day, though.

I can't imagine him telling everyone he's going over the air, even if it's no secret otherwise.

It's not like letterman broadcasts his camp location every year, after all.

Is tribe down or something

where did all these people come from all of a sudden

Jon appeared too scripted to just be referring to a casual conversation with the audience.

Letterman has gone to BM? I once gave Patrick Steward some shit for driving his golf cart on the playa with his lights off, though I didn't realize it was him until I was finished reprimanding him. Then I quickly got back on my bike and took off before he could recompose himself as Picard. He might be armed with thazer.

Isn't the NY Decompression this weekend?

Your reference to "where did all these people come from all of a sudden" reminds me of this Grateful Dead concert in Ventura back in 1985 or so....

And yes it looked to me like Jon's Burning Man remarks were on the cue cards. He says he is going to Burning Man and makes a joke about the heat, drugs and economy. The audience seems also very aware of Burning Man and lights up at his comments. There has to be a joke here somewhere but I can't think of it.

I saw a taping live once and there is a delay between the Q&A and the start of the show. Plenty of time to cobble together a quick joke, which he does quite often. If you watch the show a lot there's often some random comment at the beginning which makes the crowd go nuts, and sometimes he goes on to explain that it was a reaction to something an audience member said before the show.

On the other hand, if you'd like to believe he's going and for some reason chose to announce it publicly 10 months ahead of time feel free :)

That's the clincher. Why publicly announce it 10 months ahead of time and not next summer. Maybe they were short on jokes and needed some fill time.

Then again it could be a message to his buds and entourage to start planning now because "I'm going and if you want to hang with me get your tickets soon and plan to have a hot sweaty time on the face of the sun!"

I was more concerned with the national publicity then Jon is going!

I like jon. He's done more to help Obama then anyone else!

I've seen him there at least twice, in 2005 and 2004. He came and had drinks at our bar. He's really short.

In real life, Yao Ming comes up to my shoulder. It's the TV cameras that make him look freakishly large.

Yes, I think it's the "Napoleonic complex" that actually drives them to seek the admiration of the masses and become stars.

We went to a taping of Bill Maher's show yesterday and he's a pretty small guy too.

I'm pretty amazed at how often that seems to be the case. Damn near everyone in Hollywood is under 6 feet. Most men average something like 5'8" or some crazy shit.

Have you ever been there? "Most men average something like 5'8" or some CRAZY SHIT" WHAT?? CITES PLEASE!

What are you talking about? I feel like I have gone into somekind of space time continume, the the City of Los Angeles inhabited by some genitic breed. A very SHORT breed! Ok, now to the SHORT thing with actors. As children some kids learned to use their minds to achieve what height had not. They make a great deal of effort to be noticed in the crowd and kinda reminds me of that Randy Newman song about short people..

wait, this isn't where I was going when I started to post but..... Jon Stewart is 5'7".

Did anybody see the episode of the Colbert Report when they 'confuse' Burning man footage with coverage of the Democratic National Convention?

You mis understood Iso.

Iso was saying "according to Iso's shoddy logic" cause you know Iso never listened to the bit. Iso always assumes and never thinks. After all, that's Iso Logic.
