they call me jace...

Post by Jace » Sat Nov 08, 2008 10:16 pm

hey all, I have been in the burn scene for a few years but never bothered to register over here on the eplaya...i read it quite frequently though

I am currently living in Philadelphia, unfortunately, but looking to get back down south sometime soon

I am the web team lead for www.transformus.com...yes, THAT burn, haha...I am slowly but surely working my ass off to ensure that by the time the event rolls around next year it will be back listed on burningman.com again.....we have pulled the weeds from the garden and all that is left is beautiful things

I am also the webmaster/administrator for http://www.dirtysouthernburners.com/, a local atlanta area events and forum posting spot

lastly, as sort of a gift back to the community I just launched http://www.burnerimages.com/, which is a place for burners worldwide to upload and share images...it will always be 100% free and no advertisements

as you can see I am all about computers, coding, burning and sharing my knowledge :) I couldn't imagine going through life without helping every person or group that needed it, as long as it was in my ability

I am also a shit starter and a total hooligan...I love startin trouble! haha

anyway, that is me...glad to be here...not sure how much time I can spend posting, but I will drop in from time to time

lastly, I am always available if anyone in the community ever needs web help of any kind...

Hey Jace, welcome to eplaya.

This is just the right place for hooligans and shit starters.

You need to uncheck the box that says "Disable BBCode in this post"

You can go into your settings and have it default enable BBCode and smilies and all that.

Welcome to eplaya :D

Oh! I just recently became a member at dirthsouthernburners.com and I frequent the transformus website. (Hopefully I'll actually be able to go this time around.)

It's a small cyberworld.

it IS a small net, that is for sure

yeah, I run dirtysouthern with chew, it is his site, I just handle all the techy shit...and after the big transformus melt down of 2007 I ended up becoming the team lead for the transformus web team...I love it because Debra and vespa and the rest of the BOD give me almost complete freedom to get new ideas up and running.

Transformus is a great group of people, hell, all the southern burners are just good people all around, but the core group of transformus bod and volunteers are some of the hardest working burners I have seen, they will totally ignore the fact that they didn't get to party once in a whole weekend just to make sure the event goes off as planned

Yep in Charlotte. Transformus is next to Asheville right? I have family that lives there, so I'm familiar with that area also.

Wilmington is nice also. Not quite Charlotte material, but you know, it's ok. ;D

well, we knew we wanted somewhere in NC or SC to end up for a while....and my wife is an artist and I am a freelance designer...we both live pretty alternative lifestyles, i am an anarchist and she is a non-practicing wiccan, so living in a community that is accepting of that is a definite must

Transformus is actually IN asheville....you leave the gates of transformus and within 2 miles you can hit main st asheville

Transformus is an amazing event...moving a lot I have gotten to experience a LOT of various burner groups, and while they all have that great energy about them, the Transformus crew is literally like family, I haven't gotten that energy from an entire group in a LONG time...sure,I get it from peopel here and there, but not from everyone all at the same time

pretty cool stuff

Yes, well perhaps Charlotte isn't the place for you then. Here it's mostly... you know.. bankers. :x

Well, hopefully I'll make it to Transformus in '09 and see you there :D I'm a virgin to any kind of burn, the big one and regional ones. Definitely much easier to make a trek to Asheville than it is BRC, however.

if you go to transformus you will definitely see us, probably never at burning man though. I vowed to my wife that we had to do burning man at least once in our lifetime, and we both agreed that when I get filthy stinking rich we will go ALL OUT, huge rv, showers, nice grille, comfy beds, etc, etc.....but as it stands now, the desert in all that heat and dirt doesn't really appeal to me and my "skin has to stay clean and perfectly balanced with moisture" OCD tendencies, haha....makes me all icky thinking about it

transformus fucking rules though

haha, nah

her family comes from a very long line of wiccans, so it is basically running in her blood, she just doesn't practice it like most in her family do
