Those who have actually attended burning man

Post by Elderberry » Sun Nov 09, 2008 3:06 pm

I was just curious about how many people that are posting on eplaya have actually been to Burning Man.

So I've started this thread to see how many here are actually burners; so, if you have been to at least one burn, post here. If you have not yet been to BM; please refrain from posting in this thead.

Thanks,

JK

Almost all of us are attendees.
But... this is sorta interesting, because ironically, the person that posts the most is someone who doesn't go!

6 years starting with "The Floating World", plus the Missouri regional with pictures and video to prove it. That reminds me I need to get involved in the Colorado regional events since this is home now.

I betcha DVD finds a reason to post in here regardless of the thread title.

actually I should say 4 years in a row.
Now that I think about it, I have been about 7 times. 4 times on the playa and the others before BM went to the playa.

I've only been 2007 and 2008. My partner has been every year since 2004 I believe (maybe 2005), and we will be there 2009 and beyond.

And I must say, I am REALLY looking forward to my first meet-n-greet.

2004 Solo---Hook Line and Sinker! A truly amazing year.
2005 +1---Got kidnaped to fix the Freudian Ship steering.
2006 +2---Gave away Ice Cream in Deep Playa with a neighbor and made many repairs.
2007 Stag Camp---Wall to wall repairs mid week. Rocked it on the Boom Box. Staggered with Staggers.
2008 Stag Camp 2.0---Evacuated to Reno with Huge kidney stone. Returned to event and had a great time mostly confined to camp. Got to see the burns and get my disabled and mutant vehicle registered. Drove MV until the radiator fan failed and limped it back to camp with a computer fan for cooling.
2009 Black Rock City Welding and Repair + Stag Camp Three if it works out that way.---No Expectations!
Black Rock City Welding & Repair. The Night Time Warming Station. Crow Bar.

I got to go to a model rocket event one year at the same playa. A whole different experience without all the people and noise. Its called BALLS and I highly recommend it for anyone in the area. I am hoping next year will be even dustier than last year.

I still can't get around to a regional.. but I do want to hit that one thats a week long.

I got to do themecamping one year and found it to be far better than going solo in alot of ways. I would not recommend going to BM homeless, as performance art it just isn't aprecciated and on a personal level its a hardship that takes alot away from the positive experiences that can be had.

Went in 2006, and want to go back! The logistics just haven't worked out any time before or since, $@#% it!
