The Greatest Song In The World...

Post by Mister Jellyfish Mister » Tue Nov 11, 2008 3:55 pm

...because there can only be one.

I proclaim it to be "The 15th" recorded in 1989 by the British art rock band, Wire.

I hope the purpose of this thread was to make us think about our music..

In our lives we all have been moved by the music. I think Lucy in the sky with diamonds rang my bell for a long long time.

Also from a little younger yearsThe Eve of Distruction iinfluenced me.

If I could only choose one it would be Johnny Cash and June Carter singing Jackson with Ring of Fire a very close second.

No. Wait. Maybe it's this one. I seem to remember putting it on repeat, full blast, then leaving to make an ice run:

OK. That was fun. Now back to the song I was originally swooning about, The 15th by Wire. With a couple of clicks you can hear it. Go to

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =158779338

ignore the crappy song that comes up and click on "the 15th wire" on the middle right. Give it three minutes, then agree with me that they could have closed the copywrite offices after the song was written. In a book about the band they confessed that the lyrics were about absolutely nothing at all.
