LA going up in flames
Sylmar is going through a brush clearance project that has already taken out several hundred homes. Thats several hundred families homes have been distroyed. The evacuation would have started about midnight last night and the house's (double wide modular home park) are still burning at this time 9:00am. Thanksgiving is just a week away, gonna be tough for those folks. The fire is still burning.
If you volunteer Do not, I repeat, DO NOT tell them you are a BURNER. Not while everything is in flames.

yah,, the Sylmar fire is upwind of me. Smoky,,, AGAIN. Last time , it was west a bit at Rocky peak. Now, it's Montecito and Orange county. I doubt that MECHA started it. It's probably all the out-of-work construction people.
I don't post things because I believe that they are the absolute truth. I post them because I believe that they should be considered.
What do you mean "biggest whoppers"?DVD Burner wrote:Dude, that is the biggest whoppers of last year, to put it mildly.Toolmaker wrote:Any word on whether or not this was arson or accidental. I hear those La Mecha people are supposed to start up alot of shit this year.
Why you startin that here?
What do you mean by "startin that here"?
I was just wonderin if anyone knew the cause.. ie
arson gone wild
asshat tossin a cig out the window
scientologists cleansing the region
or just plain accidental/unknown
Just seems to me that Cali has an awful lot of fires, I've never lived out there so I don't know if its normal for yall to have such huge fires every month or so.
I remember readin about a fire last year or the year before that wound up being started by a fireman. I think it was here in Florida but I could be mistaken. That would be some shit if it was contractors lookin for work. There IS a trend growing where ppl sabotage and damage in order to get the repair work.can't sit still wrote:yah,, the Sylmar fire is upwind of me. Smoky,,, AGAIN. I hope they get this thing under control and stopped.. I saw some scenes on the news here and it looked pretty bad.

I don't think they have determined the cause of any of the recent fires in the Southern California area, but the situation is a very dry year, drought conditions, lots of people living in the local mountains where the brush is perfect fuel for a hot, fast moving brush fire. Include winds coming from the east, over the desert, the air compresses as it comes over the mountains which heats the air. The wind was hot, dry and strong, gusts of 70mph plus. Perfect storm conditions exist in the area.
