Sooo.... Hi

Post by Burner-who-hasn't » Mon Nov 17, 2008 4:53 pm

Yeah, Hi.

Umm, I'm a 30 yr old father of 2 (7 yr old boy and 16 month old princess) that is bound and determined to make 2009 my first burn... I've been lurking around these parts for several months now, so I already know most of the people I should watch out for... I can't recite the survival guide backwards yet, but I'm getting close... I don't know if there is more to say than that in my first post... Oh, is there anyone from MD that hangs out on these boards?

JK is busy washing his hands. In his temporary absense, I will welcome you.
I too am the father of two kids and I leave them home while I go to the playa. No cell phone to call home! :D

It's a ellipses. You only used it four times :D So no. I use it way to often.

Welcome. I have no known children. Your chances of actually meeting someone posting on eplaya on the playa is probably about 1:300, over three years.

Eplaya is a great resource of information, but a really lousy place to meet people.

You will almost certainly meet people that are on here.
You probably won't know it though.

If you leave them home, how will you ever live with the guilt what with all the fun you'd have?

Welcome burner-who-hasn't.

I too vote for bringing a wee one, but the 16month old princess may not be up for it. The chance of a pee beneath the sleeping bag is quite high. I saw plenty of kids in the 7 year old's range having a blast.

I can relate to the prolific use of "...." I think it's the electronic version of "ummm". Both have their time and place, like ummm....when first introducing yourself. :-)

Thank you all for the warm welcome, and Simon, I most certainly will be participating (I'm currently in the meeting people process on the local level, first up, santarchy). Nice to meet you all.

Bwah hah hah hahhhhh  Yes, I was a Kidsvillian. We were camped just in from Fairlane a bit. Do you remember the Body Rinse station on Fairlane, tween 5 and 5:30? We were right across from that. In this pic from atop my neighbors camper, the body rinse is just above the green dome.

Have known Das, Gordie. and Bekka for years. For a couple of years we where right across the street from you. The big service encampment across from you has ruined the neighborhood these day.

Wander on down to the casket and I will pour you a home brew.

:D
