do you get those wasteful mailers full of safeway, osh, Lucky newsprint ads
stuffed into your mailbox each week? i do and i've finally gotten sick and
tired of it enough to do something about it. this is what i found out:

the inserts have a cover sheet which has the name "redplum" in the upper
left corner. on the backside of this sheet i found my address (to RESIDENT)
and the return address name of a company called Valassis. Googled it and
found the page where you can fill out the online form to stop the mailings:

click on the Add/Remove button on the left and the online form comes up. or,
you can call their toll free number 888-241-6760.

make sure you select the "Remove from List" radio button when filling out
the form.

after i sent it off i got the following:
"Your address will be added and/or removed from our mailing list in
approximately 5 to 6 weeks."

so, you have to be patient, let's see if this works.

I don't trash mail unless they automatically sent it to all post office box numbers. And that is very few!

How do they get your address and name.

By filling forms that say they will stop junk mail. Like the one you just posted. Or signing up for prises and other free gift programs.

Getting alot of it with a prepaid return envelope like credit card applications. Fill it with all the trash they send you and where you are suppose to sign it. Write Remove From Mailing List!

After they get a few back, you will be supprise that you won't get any more!

I did a report on Junk Mail last year...They get your name and address by either buying it from other companies, getting people to sign up for prizes, or by setting up "Stop junk mail" lists.
If it required you to give them your address, chances are good that they will use it against you.

If it weren't for junk mail, 99% of what I get would be bills... Is there a "stop bills" list for me to get on?!
