This sounds pretty amazing (in my mind). I want to attend, and I shall... but is there anything I should do ahead of time to be a more receptive participant?

Like not:
- using the microwave
- using cellphones
- doing that game where you breath deeply and your friends hold you as you pass out after standing
- masturbating under blacklights
- sniffing shoe polish
- screaming at birds that fly over head
- endlessly making lists on forums

Actually, those are just a short list of the things you need to do to prepare yourself.

Brain enhancement, body enhancement, it's all good. Why is there so much objection to it? Why do so many think of it as 'cheating' or 'drug abuse'? I can't rap my mind around that logic--Like we just invented the car, but it's illegal for anyone to use or have one. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

What actually is the 'down-side'?

the funny thing is, john, back when i started taking these drugs, WAY BACK, there were for "problem children", then they were for "ADD" and "ADHD" now they are "brain enhancing"...

i am biased. I still take 60 mg. a day of Adderall, which is for all intents and purposes, pure amphetamine.

the bigger question is, for what reason are we as a society being cranked up?

to handle the information and multi-tasking that we now do as "the norm"?

to be able to "focus" for more hours at a time and retain the information acquired?

whatever it is, the down side is the many side effects of long term usage, which are still being studied, and i am part of that.

Psychosis, and emotional lability (as opposed to stability) are absolutely part of the equation, as well as addiction to the serotonin increase that it provides on a regular basis.

whether this is acceptable in light of the supposed enhancements is debatable.

Yup, I have the generic Adderal, it says 'D-amphetamine salts' right on the label. I don't feel a goddamn thing from it, talking to the shrink again next week. At least this shit is a lot cheaper than the anti-depressants.

Fuck, I am being medically treated for two conditions that I believe are caused by social problems. Couple hundred bucks a month for diseases I don't believe in. FUCK!
