Radical Midwestern Adventurer Seeks Friends & Council!

Post by HalfNHalf » Sun Nov 30, 2008 1:40 am

Hello former and future residents of BRC!

I’m KS.. Half-n-Half.. or 1/2 for short.. Call me whatever you want.. I’m an adventurer from the Ozarks and I started preparing today for my virgin Exodus to BRC in ’09. I’ve been to many local festivals 5-10,000 attendees, mostly for music and partying, but I have a resolute and lustful yearning to experience BM.

I keep a print-out of the survival-guide in my bathroom for relaxing daily reading so I most likely don’t need the usual “outsiderâ€

Have you been to the regional in your area?

Welcome to the fun.

Hey there HalfNHalf, welcome to eplaya.

Sounds like you already have a good handle on things. See you on the playa.

I have not been to the regional here, I joined Midwest Burners online to get the scoop on the local burner scene and haven't heard anything back yet. Is going un-affiliated much different than being with a camp?

Yes. If you are with a camp, that usually requires some form of participation commensurate with the type of camp.

If you are un-affiliated, you only have to be responsible for yourself.

Which is 'better'? I guess that depends on your personality--loner or joiner. I know people that some years like to go un-affiliated and other years join a camp.

Personally I've always been with a theme camp and look forward to helping plan and build the camp, and meeting up with my BM family each year.

Def. check out a regional if you can, to get more of a taste of what its like. Once you get to the burn all you'll taste is dust. Mmmmm, makes my beer thicker :D Look for local meet and greets in your area. It's a great way to meet people before hand and get their perspective. Hang around eplaya. Also check out tribe, careful though, the burning man tribe is experiencing a mild revolution right now. Remember, these words...duck and cover, duck and cover

Heres a list of regionals http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_re ... Man_events
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

I think there's a midwestern burners tribe on tribe.net.

LOL certainly no pun was intended. :( ...and to think some admin switched out my avatar for that one years ago on another forum to bust my balls, thinking I would see it and change it immediately! I've used it ever since.

Oh, Missouri's crawling with them. Look out for Rhino. I forgot the regional's name, but they say good things about it.

By the way, you can turn on BBCode under options on the "posting" page.

Uh oh.. I'm not sure if that's how I want to make a name for myself around here. Drugs are so secondary to the other things you can experience in this life.

Just think. If you were peasants working someone else's land, you'd be Russian crazy.

I like secondary drugs. As a matter of fact, I like primary drugs as well. Oh what the hell I like all drugs.
