Is open sex art or performance?
Is open sex art or performance?

Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which I desire

I guess I was in the wrong part of town.

I guess I'm always in the wrong part of town. As far as I know from first hand information, there isn't any more sex in BRC than in Oakland.Lukky wrote: Where were you walkin'?

Apparently there was a very attractive young couple who did the deed in mid afternoon in the middle of our lounge on Friday. And nobody bothered to wake me up so I could watch... bastards!!!!
Woof!

A plan is what you vary from.
Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Doin the nasty, playa-style.
I didn't see any of that this year, but in '05 I saw a couple do a rather tasteful display by silouhetting themselves on the wall of their tent. You could clearly see what they were doing without seeing them. Very nice. Art x Performance; I think it's a little of both. They are, after all, performing an art.
*poke* is it flammable?

I can't find it specifically, but I do know "adult" camps are supposed to screen the content/activities from the casual view of those under 18. I know the BLM can and has given out tickets for public sex acts, but I can't seem to find the cites easily. in case anyone is getting an idea for a camp/installation, dig for that info, you may need it. I know it was a big issue in years past.

We were tooling around in our art truck (Tieland) either Sunday or Monday (the opening) and as we set off the fire cannon, lit up the playa and there were a couple screwing like mad. He flipped us off as we drove by and set off another fire burst; but had we not done that we could have ran them over and killed them. She, at least, looked like she was having a good time.

Sex as Art or Perfomance
Sex is definatley an art !!! But I did witness a couple performing (quite appropriatly I might add) under the monkey tree Thurs. They were completly lost in what they were doing. They were on one of the bikes that powered the tree, and she gave some of the most awsome deep throat I've seen in a long time. :D :D :D

I believ it can be - but art is what it is.
The late Supreme Court Justice Potter Steward wisely said it best "I may not be able to define it, but I now it when I see it." He was addressing pornography; I feel the reverse would also apply to defining art.
2 more cents to you - I think i have dropped a quarters worth of my opinions today on eplaya - im out.

Burn Night waiting for the man and pretty much throughout the entire burn. My friend pointed out a couple no more than 12 feet away in the crowd having at it while standing up no less for at least a half hour off and on. She was nude, he was clothed, and taking her from behind.
Every time an art car flare went off, she'd quickly turn around and look with these crazed eyes. Guessing they weren't exactly sober?
I was surprised at how few people seemed to notice, or maybe they just didn't care, couldn't be bothered.
I wish I'd seen more of it, or had the cohones to be that free myself.
*sigh*
Not at all offended either, it was actually very sensual.
I'd say, with this couple, it was more of a performance than art. I could see it being both.

My wife and I saw that. That was very cool and definately artistic performance. I think you could "rent" the tent with the stipulation that the backlighting stayed on. At least, that was what a couple standing there told us, but they were dismayed because the camp was closing up for the night soon. (Burn night 2005, iirc.)Wrath7sins wrote:I didn't see any of that this year, but in '05 I saw a couple do a rather tasteful display by silouhetting themselves on the wall of their tent. Yeah I definitely got to the top of Big Rig Jig & saw some goings on. A little cramped up there but they were friendly enough...
