newbie canadian girl...

Post by RUDE » Tue Mar 23, 2004 5:13 pm

howdy howdy howdy... so im new to all of this but i am so unbelievably excited to go to BM i can barely control myself... anyways, the chances of me finding someone to go with is very slim, and i am planning to go all alone (*gasp*), so i was wondering if any other single people were looking to meet up and possibly camp together... so im basically starting my networking here and now, if anyone wouldn't mind a cute canadian chick haning around their camp it would be much appreciated, as well as any helpful hints for a travelling virgin.... i know y'all will be super helpful so heres a thanks in advance!

Solo Collective?

Try http://www.netquirks.com/solo/ although the web site says they aren't doing it again this year you may find some links to like-minded folk who're looking.

Give it a try.

SoloCo disbanded and reformed as something else.
Though their web site seems to be down at the moment.

Hi, I'm in Ottawa. I think I'll be driving down. I'll keep in touch as I've never been either, so I can't offer much help right now. Where abouts are you?

Have a good day,

Gus

Whassapening Rude?,
I'm a newbie myself, but already feel right at home here on the eplaya with all the fellow burner "virtual friends" lurking about. I think you won't have any trouble finding a camp or group who would like to have a "cute Canadian chick hanging around." I'm planning on waiting a bit longer to let a few more theme camps register, check out their descriptions, and then see if I can hook up with some cool, fun folks in a happenin' theme camp.
...but it seemed like such a good idea at the time...

Hey RUDE,

I too am new to BM, and planning on going solo. Right now I'm trying to work out my travel arrangements, but if everything works out the way I am hoping, I will be driving down in a camper from Edmonton. So are you looking to hook up for transportation as well, or just some people to camp with? If you can drive standard, I would love to make the trek non-stop to BRC.

Either way, maybe we can figure something out. I'm always glad to be in the company of cute chicks, but I dunno about the Canadian part, I hate those guys ;)

Cheers!

Hello Rude! Welcome to our community. If you do end up going it alone, you could always bring a canadian flag or some other recognizably "Canadian" emblem or symbol (lots of Canadian beer would also work well!). That way other Canadians would recognize you as a kindred soul and be more likely to approach you. If you are as friendly and outgoing in person as your Eplaya persona seems to be, you should have no problems meeting new friends once you get down there.

Of course, no reason to limit your friends according to an arbitrary political line established by some dead person that wasn't part of our City!

Hope to see you on the Playa, Jafe

Hey Rude,

There's a fairly large community here in Vancouver. And there are two official events between now and Black Rock. Check out the website.....

I went to an unofficial firespinning get together on Wreck Beach - the fire spinners never showed, but hey that was OK. Nice bonfire by the water..

Solo canadians on the playa?

Post by ilikelotsofnumbers » Sun Apr 04, 2004 9:23 am

Hey, you're from the same giant country as i am?

that one with 30 million people?

COOL!

...i'm actually looking for a ride south, i'm on the other side of the mountains though... maybe i could bus it over there though...

i'd totally be willing to split costs, and, if you've got a hitch, i might be able to borrow a camper/trailer to haul stuff in, and provide some shelter...
