Hey community,
BM Virgin here, although i've decided to come to 2009. I know it's a bit early to start making plans, but barring anything unforseen i'll be there.
I'm a 24yr old, currently in ok, and hoping to fly in. No clue where i'll stay, no clue what i'll do, and i'm thinking i'll just bounce around like a pinball soaking up the experience so i'll know what i want to do in the following years.
Advice, stories, constructive criticism, and of course freebies are all glady accepted. Be talking with you guys more ;)

first off.. Welcome !! && it's NEVER too early to start the planning. I always start planning the next year right after I get home from the playa.. Also, My first year I camped with a group from OK called the Gypsy Witches.. they were AMAZING & specialize in helping virgin burners.. you should look them up. Most of them were from the Olahoma City area.
don't forget to floss
Welcome,
It's never too early to start making plans. Lots of people start as soon as they get home from the last burn.
Usual Bman virgin advice, read the survival guide and preparation sections of the website until they're memorized. Try to go to some local meet-n-greets or regional burns because it's nice to know people before you get there.
Oh, and have fun!

Bad news, man. They canceled BM. Disney bought them out and moved the whole event to Orlando. Theme camps will be replaced with make-your-own teddy bear and t-shirt factories. The Man will be replaced with a giant animatronic Micky that dances to Hannah Montana songs on Saturday. I can't wait!
Some of the old BM vets are planning to run a train down Hollywood Blvd on Labor Day. I can't go either since I'm a virgin too. I heard they need fluffers though. Gotta bring your own lube, ask JK who his whole sale dealer is.
Seriously, though. Really consider the radical self reliant thing. 2009 will my first year and from what I can tell it doesn't look like an environment to take lightly.

Hell, I was making plans and changes for 09 as we were driving off the playa this year.
Welcome BMSabre to eplaya. Read, and soak. Be one with the sponge. Useful tidbits are here for the finding, and as we get closer to the burn, things will start to ramp up even more. Another resource is Tribe. And there are PLENTY of personal web pages online filled with fine nuggets of knowledge.
Enjoy the ride

Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

No it is not. Staying hydrated is job 1. Make sure you have good goggles and dust masks, with spares. Keep them handy, including accessible to you the instant you roll onto the playa. This yrs dust storm upon arrival made that painfully obvious, my good stuff was in the bed of the truck. Fort. I had spares in the cab. Pay special attention to taking care of your hands and feet from the effects of the dust, also lips. Read the survival guide again and again. Practice UV protection.FrostyMan wrote:Seriously, though.
