Ferris Wheel At Burning Man?
I just had the crazy idea that i probably won't ever be able to create but am totally willing to let someone else take it but....
Has there ever been a ferris wheel at burning man? I think that would be the coolest shit ever...
Just an idea.

But let's step it up a notch and make it mobile, as opposed to stationary. Why, it could revolutionize travel on the playa. Think about it, hundreds of giant ferris wheels roaming about, woman and children running scared, countless tents and rv's destroyed, while sweet calliope music waft's about the playa.
Sigh........
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

I just don't get people's interest in Ferris Wheels. I've rode a few and I think they have to be the most boring things one can possibly find for amusement. They fall into my category of things worth avoiding...clowns are the same way...can't stand 'em.

How about the risk of being left sitting up top when the operator decides to take a break?! Huh? You ever think of that danger?!?Kinetic V wrote:I just don't get people's interest in Ferris Wheels. As far as I can tell, the appeal is getting up high and being able to see around... that, or maybe spitting, spilling a drink, etc. on people beneath you...

Several years ago, someone brought and old traveling fun house. As I recall, the inside was modified for the playa. It was very cool to walk through it. This was at their camp and visitors could enjoy this amazing art project. I also remember that it ended up on eBay a few years later, but not sure if it ever sold.
Amusement park rides might be ok, but I would imagine that they must be modified so much, that you could not recognize them.

That implies that you believe anyone needs your permission, and that no one's thought of it already.toki_bear25 wrote: but i am totally willing to let someone take the idea...

That's why you're taking such teasing here, if you even realize that's what's happening!
What if you weren't willing to let someone use that idea?

Hey Toki, you're fresh to this board, so just to give you a peek behind the curtain... in general, BM is a volunteer, self-reliant kind of event and whenever someone comes on here and says "It'd be so cool if someone else did some cool thing for me" it always sets off everyone's sarcasm-shit-slinger.
Except for Sail Man. He's just like that already.

actually, a berry-go-round (of death) would be better. fewer mechanical parts, and you can get youself rotating faster if you get 2/3 people working each pod properly.Sail Man wrote:pinemom wrote:How bout Tilt a whirl!

Wow!! That is super cool! Don't you wish we all had that kind of budget for our playa projects??
A plan is what you vary from.
