The Juice just may be turned loose…for a while.
With their convictions for kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon going to appeal, lawyers for O.J. Simpson and former golf buddy Clarence "C.J." Stewart argued at a Las Vegas hearing Monday that the two men should be allowed to post bond and get out of prison while the case is reviewed.
The former football star and his convicted co-defendant were not in the courtroom, but their lawyers argued that they deserve to be free while working to prove that they did not have a fair trial.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger maintained that the two men should continue to serve their sentences, arguing that a jury had spoken.
Justice Michael Cherry didn't say how long the three-member panel would take to rule on allowing Simpson and Stewart to post bond.
Simpson is serving nine to 33 years for his actions in a September 2007 altercation with two sports memorabilia dealers, while Stewart is serving 7 ½ to 27 years.
