BUSH's PARDON LIST

Post by mdmf007 » Mon Dec 22, 2008 8:22 am

So - its almost time for GW Bush to pardon all his cronies and those that bought a pardon somehow.

My picks are:

#1 Richard Cheney - because he told Bush too
#2 Karl Rove - Because he is Bush's string puller and "stragtegist"
#3 Ted Stevens "because he's ben a senator forever"

? your turn

it'll be interesting, as, it is with every president when they leave office........

I'll be interested to see if/how he's skewered compared to any others pardons before.........

It will be interesting to see if he goes the conventional route of pardoning political contributors and family friends who have already been convicted and/or served their time or whether he does any pro-active pardoning of people who did his dirty work, as some fear he will. I'm not so sure he will, personally. He seems more interested in old moonshining and small theft convictions:

It's amazing to me that pardoning oneself, and pardoning in advance of convictions, are even possible. In some bizarre, sane parallel universe I would expect that to be classified as obstruction of justice.

He should pardon the two border patrol agents that are unjustly in jail for doing their job.

I believe that would be the ones who were charged after shooting at a car full of illegals who were trying to run them over. A bullet hit the toe of an illegal. Mexican officials pressured Bush and the pair were charged with excessive force or some such.

Of course I could be mistaken (so many innocents paying for Bush and friend's fun).

Should they be pardoned because they're bad shots or because they were only shooting at Mexicans? I tried googling for this story but there are simply too many stories about border patrol agents shooting people and nothing happening or being charged after the Mexican consulate stepped in. I don't know which one you're talking about.

Ted Stevens. No wait, Randy Duke Cunningham. No wait, Tom DeLay. No wait, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, John Yoo, Alberto Gonzales, Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Mike Brown, Sarah Palin...

Aw fuck it, there's too many, and most of them will never see the inside of a court room.

Personally I consider the crimes the folks I mentioned did to us and the world, much, much worse than the white collar crimes of Marc Rich. Obama's Atty Gen Richard Holden recommended President Clinton pardon him.

It's a moot point anyway, nobody has any illusions that people like those that I mentioned will ever be prosecuted - they're too rich, too powerful, too connected, have too many lawyers, and everyone else is too scared about the can of worms that would be opened if the people of the outgoing Administration were prosecuted.

But in my opinion, all the people above deserve to rot away in jail...but not be waterboarded. Cuz that's torture.

I'm not sure this is the case any longer..think Enron, Bernie Madoff (sp), et.al. Times are a'changin and now that more of the 'common folk' are actually becoming monitarily affected by many of these transgressions committed by the wealthy and connected, they have become less tolerant of them. Didn't much matter when what the rich did had no direct effect on their life style.
