Burning Man Marching Band?
Burning Man Marching Band?
hey y'all! my name is suz and i am a transplanted austin texan living in pasadena ca-- and most importantly, i am a going-on 3rd year burner baby.
I played trombone in college and am DYING to be a part of any burning man marching bands that are out there.
can anyone tell me/link me to any info on any already formed BMMBs (burning man marching band) or if anyone is interested in forming a BMMB? any info would be greatly appreciated.
i got to see a gigantic BMMB play at like 3 am last year in central camp and it really jazzed my wazz! if y'all know anything about that, giver me a holler. please.
thanks everyone, and let the magical unicorn god rain glitter and sparkles down upon you!

check out environmental encroachment. they're based out of chicago & are a raucous, fun-loving group of musicians. i know they're on myspace. see you out on the playa!
Burning Band
If I recall correctly (it's possible!) there was a notice in a Jackrabbit Speaks last summer soliciting musicians for the Burning Band. Check it out!

The used to come to the playa every year, and built the famous Contessa:

I don't know if they plan to come back, but they are super fucking excellent.
In fact, they are performing in San Francisco on Fat Tuesday (Feb 24th) and i hope to go see them.

This parade seeks a Marching & Burning Band!
All noisy, marching evolving creatures wanted!
Greetings from Portlandia (Portland, Oregon)
Thank you to all of the members of the Burning Band who attended our Burning Sam Parade at 5:30 and Corsair last year!
It was great fun raiding center camp and the radio station with you!
Well, we are planning on doing it again!
This time "the Intergalatic Species Parade" will be happening Wednesday. 5 pm: greet and garb, 6 pm MARCH!
We'd love to have you join us... We will be leaving from Camp Sietch Grabrear, home of Shai-Hulud the Sandworm mutant vehicle.
See our website for more info: http://sandworm.tikimojo.com.
Of course we do not know where we will be placed yet, but we have asked for close in, radial street frontage.
If I hear from you soon, I will include a promo for you in our PSA for BMIR Radio to be produced by my buddies at Portland's KBOO community radio.
We'll be keeping the beer cold!
