It's my birthday today.

Post by madmatt » Fri Dec 26, 2008 7:29 pm

It's my birthday today. I'm 37.

On December 26,
1776 - George Washington defeated the Hessians at Trenton (indifferent)
1865- James H. Nason received a patent for a coffee percolator (I'm a huge coffee junkie)
1966 - The first Kwanzaa is celebrated (hahaha)
1971 - Matt Myerhoff was born
1972 - The 33rd president of the United States, Harry S. Truman, died in Kansas City, Mo. (good president)
1985 - Zoologist Dian Fossey was found murdered in Rwanda (loved her!)
1996 - JonBenet Ramsey was found murdered in her Boulder, Colo., home (precious pop media history moment)
2004 - In the Indian Ocean, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake, the largest in 40 years, triggered a tsunami that ultimately killed more than 280,000 (a worldwide tragedy)

Happy Birthday!!!

JK
Elderberry

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Maybe next year for Matt's birthday we could get a volcano to erupt, what better present for a burner then to have the worlds biggest candle :D

Wish I was 17 again, rather than 45... :(

I'd settle for either going back to when I turned 17 in 1980, or being like I was at 17 in the present! (Then has the advantage of using "what I know now that I didn't know then", and now has the advantage of Prozac, better technology, and a few other things!)

So far, all I have been able to do is the one second per one second forward only variety....

...speaking of which, I really should get back to work. My lunch break is pretty much over. (Plus the air circulation in this room is pretty sucky, and making me sleepy.)

There is always a volcano erupting somewhere.
Being there at the right time is the trick.
And sometimes they are somewhat awkwardly located.
I regret every one I miss.
