Oui!
Oui!
Hey hey,
20-year old virgin burner from PDX, making it to BRC for my first time in 2009! I'm a poi-spinning, burrito-munching, finger-painting idealist who likes to give out flowers on street corners. So excited for 2009...friends have tried to bring me to the playa for the last two years, and I'm finally going!
Bringing caramelized bacon, too. :D

Hey Sandfish, welcome to eplaya. Bring the bacon, lots of it in fact as you'll want to hand that out at street corners instead of flowers, they're moop and plants are not allowed. And if some guy named JKisha walks up to you at the corner and wants to shake your hand, walk away, fast
Strap in and hang on

Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Hey Sandfish,
Congrats on making your way down to BRC this year. My psychic told me it's supposed to be a good year. People are excited about the theme.
This summer you should come to Soak, the regional burn for Oregon. It's the pre-party party. Stay current by logging onto http://burningmanportland.com/ or
http://portlandburners.tribe.net/
Start working on costumes now. It takes a while to build up well rounded assortment.

Re: Oui!
Welcome! Bacon loving, poi spinning.... Yep, sounds like a normal PDX resident to me.
C'mon - that's part of his charm. I'd be more scared if he didn't have it.goathead wrote: Watch out for the little guy "Pounding it."
Thanks for the warm welcome!
For anyone who wants to try out the recipe for themselves...

EDIT: Note that it keeps at room temp for up to three days

Oh, man. I'm trying to figure out if I can be efficient and do all of the above simultaneously. Maybe I'll try to learn meteor and free a hand up for the finger-painting, shove a burrito in my mouth, and hand out flowers/bacon with my toes...Simon of the Playa wrote:I'm a poi-spinning, burrito-munching, finger-painting idealist who likes to give out flowers on street corners.
prove it.
Or maybe I'll toe-paint. Sounds squishier.

How should I prove it? I've been working on hybrids lately (particularly flower hybrids), and it's breaking my head a bit. Not sure I can prove anything until I stop confusing myself!cullen wrote:you could try but i'm more interested in the poi-spinning.sandfish wrote:Oh, man. pffffft! Toes.
Edward Lear wrote: The Pobble who has no toes
Had once as many as we;
When they said "Some day you may lose them all;"
He replied "Fish, fiddle-de-dee!"
And his Aunt Jobiska made him drink
Lavender water tinged with pink,
For she said "The World in general knows
There's nothing so good for a Pobble's toes!"
The Pobble who has no toes
Swam across the Bristol Channel;
But before he set out he wrapped his nose
In a piece of scarlet flannel.
For his Aunt Jobiska said "No harm
Can come to his toes if his nose is warm;
And it's perfectly known that a Pobble's toes
Are safe, -- provided he minds his nose!"
The Pobble swam fast and well,
And when boats or ships came near him,
He tinkledy-blinkledy-winkled a bell,
So that all the world could hear him.
And all the Sailors and Admirals cried,
When they saw him nearing the further side -
"He has gone to fish for his Aunt Jobiska's
Runcible Cat with crimson whiskers!"
But before he touched the shore,
The shore of the Bristol Channel,
A sea-green porpoise carried away
His wrapper of scarlet flannel.
And when he came to observe his feet,
Formerly garnished with toes so neat,
His face at once became forlorn,
On perceiving that all his toes were gone!
And nobody ever knew,
From that dark day to the present,
Whoso had taken the Pobble's toes,
In a manner so far from pleasant.
Whether the shrimps, or crawfish grey,
Or crafty Mermaids stole them away -
Nobody knew: and nobody knows
How the Pobble was robbed of his twice five toes!
The Pobble who has no toes
Was placed in a friendly Bark,
And they rowed him back, and carried him up
To his Aunt Jobiska's Park.
And she made him a feast at his earnest wish
Of eggs and buttercups fried with fish, -
And she said "It's a fact the whole world knows,
That Pobbles are happier without their toes!"

For clarification, my timing is quite a bit sloppier than the timing in the vid (it's by Alien Jon, not me!). But it's getting better! Kind of...littleflower wrote:wow! flower programs ... that is so cool, sandfish ...
