Hey folks,

So I am in the begining stages of scheming up our 2009 theme camp, and am putting out the call for an art car.

We are a group of all female professional dancers, entertainers & fire performers. We spend the year dancing, rehearsing, and performing.

Basically, we provide the dancers & the entertainment, you provide the art car, we go out and have a good time.

Our ideal art car has an large performance platform, poles, and a bumping sound system.

Look for the Exploratorium. It should suite your needs quite nicely. I am not affiliated in any way shape or form with the operators of that mutant vehicle so I am unaware what results your efforts at cooperation will yield.

our camp has a Mutant Vehicle with 5 poles on the dance floor, a bar, and space for 15-20 passengers. I'm not certain what the plan is for this year - a mutant vehicle is an expensive project, even when it's just being refurbished - I'll check with the Captain ,feel him out(or up!), and report back....

Words to live by. Most mutant vehicleers have built their mvs to their specifications for their needs. And most mvs are techy beasts that need to be coddled by the builders. (Few can afford a brand new vehicle to mutate. It's what drove the big three to bankruptcy.) Chances are no one will loan one to you. (There are liability issues to consider, on top of everything else.) And a loaner may not have the qualities you seek.

You have plenty of time to mutate your own or to revamp your plan to not be mobile.

It doesn't sound to me as if they want one loaned to them, they just want to team up with someone who's bringing such a contraption.

Hey there,G'stasia...
I think a better funner idea, would be to TEAM up with a group that is Building a MV,"MUTATED VEHICLE", the Bmorg no longer wishes to use the term ART CAR as that means its a art inflicted car, still can tell its a car.
A MV is completely no where near its former self....

Anywho....get with someone in your area or maybe even up to a 2 hour drive from ya'll, and go HELP them build it.
Donate your time, your green backs and your sweat!!!(your frustration when this breaks, or that doesnt fit right, or that totally just busted off.)
!pour your heart into it!

Yup, Im sure that you might even find a smitten dude who might give you gals a twirl, but I doubt they will be at your beck and call...this is Burningman...and pretty lights happen all the time!

Gypsy, I'm thinking a group of hot ladies looking to dance will have absolutely ZERO problem in finding a willing owner of an art car. Just cruise around and look for one you like, and approach the owner.

This is my sixth year and in the spirit of the "theme", I started the first year walking, second year biking (it broke), an electric scooter the third year, electric ice chest the fourth year, and a gas scooter last year (until I hit a dune at 18mph...ouch).....evolution demands a mutant vehicle so PLUSH will be born from the ashes of a 1990 Le Baron convertible........I plan to remove the trunk hood and place a rumble sort of seat that will transport weary burners from place to place in the trunk....more seats or a pole in the back seat area....I live in San Diego so if you girls are interested in assisting with design or offering other ideas great.....the whole car is to be covered with shag carpet remants and the BM logo on the hood.....pictures of it before can be requested........Evil Ives
