Ferris Wheel At Burning Man?

Couldn't resist a reply.

In case all who were "there" last year didn't make it out to the "Burbs", the folks at DEVIANTEV.com brought out the Tilt-A-Hurl and Tub-A-Hurl for everyone's inner ear excitement.

We do have plans for another ride(still under super secret design phase) for '09.

The super crappy Playa conditions unfortunately kept us over in the Burbs most of the week.

Everyone now! Let us all think of a wet winter for the Playa. OOOOGA BOOOGA CHOOOGA WOOOGA RAIN RAIN RAIN!

'09 should find us on the other side, closer to the action. So look for us, or just listen for the..................................... screams!

Some of the old folk traditions in Great Britain featured a great burning wheel that was rolled downhill in the middle of winter.

The new site does require bandwidth for the tunes, works fine without waiting for the tunes though. Pic's are few due to the playa killing my camera the first day. I'm scavanging links across the web to other peoples sites. The Pic's page should be done in a week. The Home Page does have some links to the Berkeley event done shortly after BM-08.

They must live some where close-(9:15 second last ring) 'cause I see the guy a lot. By the bathrooms, at our bar, DEEP END, any way...

the Roller Coaster I rode on the Playa '03 & '04 wassssssss fricking CcccccrrrrrrraaaaaaaZZZZZZZYYYYYY SCARY !!!!

Sooooooooo much fun I did twice first YEAR and went back the second and looked for them ever since-
any body got a of the J shaped Roller COaster??

I think thats an awesome idea... get high above the playa and be able to take pictures... even taking rides at night... ooooo the ideas..

Not at night. The playa is not equiped for that. Unless you want to do a flyover from Winnemuca or Reno.

Basically all flying is from dawn to 10 am, or maybe a little later.

We used to roam the playa with the R'Evolve - big rotating people-powered swings. Sure wish we'd thought of the insane caliope music! *sigh* Ah well, my real point is that people-powered makes your ferris wheel much more interactive. So while we're dreaming and brain-farting around... why not make it powered via a hamster-dance?

Then it can roll around on its own, unthered to a camp (and rolling over others in its path... queue the caliope music!)

Keep in mind kids... If you can't anchor the thing down securely enough to handle a full-load of people AND winds in excess of 100mph, I wouldn't even consider bringing one out. Forget about if it's been done before. Our comm tower is rated to handle 100+mph winds and we still lower it considerably every time the wind kicks up for safety.

If the wheel was set up anywhere inside of the city-area where folks are camping and it managed to tip over due to a wind-storm the results would be catastrophic.

Otherwise, game-on if you can put this together the right way.
