Hey, that's one reason to live in Southwest Michigan...the ability to reach Climax by a short drive. Colon's not far either, if that's what you're into....

Happy New Year, buddy!

...I just went through Hell shortly ago....The kid voted "stupidest person to EVER be on "Survivor" was from there. Hell's party store (and post office) has good pizza!

Better "later" than "sooner", metaphorically speaking. Strike and Reverse, if it means you're contemplating a Michigan visit...if so, I'll See You In Hell!

Hey, keep me posted! I've got vacation time to use, and might be able to convince some people to come. A friend of mine is interested in Burning Man, and his wife would be if it weren't for the slight problem of heat being a trigger for her epilepsy. Michigan might be close enough to Wisconsin to interest my brother. (And I might try to look up a guy at a place I temped at a couple summers back...) Anyway, maybe I could get a Wisconsin contingent together!

(What days in June and where in Michigan it will be would be a good start...! ) (Actually, the UP doesn't sound bad to me... I haven't been that far north since I was a kid.)

BAS, Lakes of Fire will be held June 26-28 at the Willow Ranch near South Haven, Michigan.

http://www.michiganpeacefest.com/willow ... ome_of.htm

The Wisconsin contingent is most def. encouraged to come, Nay! Required!! Spread the word out among your peeps I'm getting the medical team in order and looking for volunteers. They can hit me up at [email protected]

http://groups.google.com/group/Lakes-Of-Fire?hl=en

This site was used as our Decomp this past Sept. and has been used for other sm festivals. It's location was also chosen because of it affording a good central location for all of the midwest, including Ontario. From Wisconsin, maybe consider taking one of the ferries across Lake MI. That would be a cool component of the road trip.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Just so long as that isn't one of the University's Blackout Dates (one of which is the weekend of Burning Man, every year), I'll try to make it.

(Now, who do I ask, since my supervisor retired...?)

Third time around. Back in Kalamazoo.

Post by SilverOrange » Thu Jan 15, 2009 1:28 pm

Just moved back to Kalamazoo after 20 years in Cali, and damn it's cold. I've met a few burners here, but am looking to meet more. I see I just missed a perfectly good excuse to go to Bells. Looking forward to meeting up.

Hey Silver! Some of us are going to Bell's TONIGHT...The Ragbirds are playing, and we like them. Look for a brown-haired guy of about average height- That's ME!
Okay....I'll wear a green L.L. Bean chamois shirt. Might not wear the kilt tonight, given the temperature....
Get onto the West Michigan Announce List! There's an event coming up first week of February, down in Bridgman! We're plotting another Meet'n'Greet for soon, possibly in Grand Rapids.

Those are who I work for-- as in "clean up after"! (Clean up their vomit, unplug their toilets, and even more disgusting things than that!) I did feel kinda zombie-Badger-like after this Friday: we're down one supervisor, the student worker position for cleaning the laundry rooms was eliminated at the start of this semester, and the other worker who was supposed to be on duty for the Southeast Area called in sick (and no one bothered to tell ME!). Oh, and I forgot about the eight calls I got in addition to my regular work (overflowing toilet, fire alarm at Chadbourne, vomit on elevator all came at once...)

Saturday, I finally remembered to mention Lakes o' Fire to some of my friends, and just sent an email out to them with the info from this thread.

Well, I need to get to bed, in need to get some sleep, just in case my coworker is still out Sunday.
