Only partly true-- Capt. James Tiberius Kirk. (Hopefully I spelled the middle name correctly.) I don't his brother's name (and am not even certain I recall him).
TPBM has every episode of the original Battlestar Gallactica and has never even seen one episode of the new series!

true,
he was killed by the "flying egg yolks" as I call them, parasites that attach to people and invade their brains.......
killed his wife, too,
Peter, the only named son, was freed eventually from them, IIRC, by ultraviolet light, which, almost blinded Spock, except for the vestigial extra eyelid Vulcans have that they forget about.......
TPBM can't understand anyone remember that much detail about a 40 year old tv program.....

Are you kidding! When I read too much of that stuff I break out in hives. It's a miracle that I enjoy Reynolds as much as I do. (He was my discovery in 07, which shows how out of touch I was.) No, give me some Kim Stanley Robinson or Lisa Goldstien or Dan Simmons and I'm happy as a clam. and not one of those jam out clam out clams *shudder*
TPBM doesn't recognized a single name I dropped.
