I stayed a block from the astronomical clock in the old town square, towards Wenszenschlaus square............third floor, but, not so many keys...........

Stary novy.

I feel in love with Prague because of that clock in the movie. Never fall in love with a town because of a clock in a movie, it might radically change your life.

Can Prague BE any different?!

I have spent many a day hauling a friend up stairs, on my back, because of the lack of wheelchair accessibility. I can't imagine Europe being easy to manuever.

Fishy - you planning another trip?!

yes, 3 stories down, looked like an old dungeon or something, quite gothic.......great music, free flowing absinthe (where I acquired my taste for same). College students stripping and even screwing on the pianos........

I got "dosed" I'm pretty sure in there, but, it seems I was to big or something, it didn't knock me out, but, I more or less "came to" walking down an alley like from "Pinocchio", with a russian guy cocking a pistol and yelling at me........

I have memories in between the club and that incident, but, am not sure if they're real..........

still had my wallet, and, underwear............and, they were on "fly forward"............hahaha

I'm hoping not to go back to the desert in '10. I wanna go to Africa, but the idea of having no toilets--much less no accessible ones--kinda creeps me out. I would love to do Scandinavia and maybe St. Petersburg and the Baltic states. Asia would be nice, maybe. Yargh! Travel is so much more complicated than it was two years ago. How much am I going to let that limit me, I don't know. Maybe I should sit down and come up with a life list. Everest is not on it.

I did a month in Estonia and Finland.
I was great, beyond my expectations.
I'd highly recommend it, as far as the Baltic states go.........

All I need for Christmas, is for 25 eplayans to each send me a box full of oddball crap that they have in their junk drawer.

Bomb Bay Tea Company debuted this year. There was another that didn't make it, but they may try again. Le Chat Noir and Karine are not in either Steampunk camp, but they have the most marvelous steampunk artifact: the Contraption.
Pics and more are to be found in these two threads.

I know Brass Goggles forum members talked about it, but whether it ever happened I don't know. They were going to be called "Recolonizing the Americas", but I never saw anything with that name on the listings. They were going to build what looked like a landed airship as their public space. I hope to see them next year!

The Time Colony will embrace the philosophy and style with our art, and steampunk dress will be strongly encouraged at our Time Warp (historical music mashup) dance in our Time Machine. But we're not strictly steampunk, just time travel in general.

And of course there's lots of steampunk art scattered, often crawling across the playa.

Cap'n Hazard,

Bomb Bay Tea Co. was the camp that came out of the Brass Goggles thread (Recolonising.... was the thread subject.) The best set of pictures is here. Located just beyond the wheel at 5:30 and Corvair. Sorry that you missed us, shoulda followed that BG thread more carefully :)

Not sure what we have planned for next year, discussion will resume in January. I'll put an update in here.

Dreamy

The weird thing is that I bet state of the art for most of the 20th Century was worse than this. Well if the description is accurate.
