No, but we could hitch you up and you can pull the wagon!

Oh yes, I can walk a LONG way before I get tired. And I can carry your shamrocks and potatoes and rainbows for you.

Last year they wouldn't let me in though. They let you in? Did they know you were Irish? Maybe I should tell them I'm Irish next year....

Funny Mule

Post by Garfunkymunky2 » Sat Jan 10, 2009 10:02 am

Did you know that in some parts of Ireland Mule is still considered a delicacy? I say some parts, I mean in the forests and caves on the west and to the tribes who live there. They care not for potatoes and shamrocks and rainbows....

Tell ya what, we'll dye you ginger and give you a harp or an equally stereotypical Irish instrument to play while you approach the gate?

Ill get ya in, if you get me there!!

Deal?

Hmmm, this is shaping up to be quite the visual

A ginger colored mule playing irish jigs on a harp carrying a monkey.

I've been waiting for that free flashback from all that acid I took out in Cali. :P
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

Cool, I aim to please. Keep an eye out at the gate in September and you wont need a flashback :D

I might suggest, if Mule agrees, that you climb astride him, as you approach the gate, and, turn around.
Go in backwards, wave, and say goodbye......

the "gatefolk" will think you're leaving........

BLARNEY!

since the mule is usually drunk, and he might be fightin' some potatoes at any given time, while also digging ditches, one could easily assume that he was indeed, ALREADY irish.

not to mention the corned beef brisket under his saddle.

steak McTartar i believe it's called.

Hey, are there any tired cliches about the irish that we've missed? Cause I wouldn't want us to be anything less than complete.
I didn't see a Blarney Stone joke.
Soda Bread?
Skin-crawlingly bad broughs based on cheesey hollywood movies?

Of course, I'm likely to embarass everyone by mentioning the fact that I am a big Pogues fan, stuck in the 80s, how dreadful.

Sorry, didn't mean to get your irish up.
We haven't even started making fun of the whole consubstantiation versus transubstantiation thing yet.

Have you seen the video?
I think it's pretty funny.

My Irish is never down.

Is there not loads of my lot at Bm?
We travelled thousands of miles to get away from them and we met a fair few different groups of them.

I had a perverse sort of fun verbally abusing an Irish quartet after the Temple Burn. Plenty of other people have Irish on the Playa stories happier than mine. The Irish economy has been pretty good the past decade or so, so it make sense that a fair number has made the trip.

It's often random luck which groups of people you run into.
With the exchange rate like it is, there have certainly been a lot of people from overseas.
There are more people from overseas than from many parts of the usa.
