You should be driving a car with a double glazed windshield up there, so you don't become environmental moop.

You know why my heavy parka and pants only come in yellow and red?
The same reason they tell you to stand under doorways in earthquakes- so it's easier to find your body later.

I wish I could see the northern lights.

If you want me to check and see if you can get a better deal on the lamps, let me know the configuration.

Some people add quartz lighting to daylight or full spectrum to add some red.

And if you really want to save on heating and be comfy, try radiant heating.
I just unplugged a 1500 watt heater and got out my 600 watt quartz heater.
The room is colder, but I'm warmer now.

And for beds, these heating pads work great.
US made and available in 12 volts for truckers and RVs, or those off the grid.

Everyone knows that hot water freezes faster than cold water, and cold water comes to a boil faster than warm water.

Its called conduction, I think........

if it is -20 out and you threw warm water on someones tongue, sure the tongue might come loose , but chances are you will replace it with frozen lips.........
True.
This is why freezers are always kept so hot.
It is the reason rv refrigerators can run on flame.
Here is a related scientific principle in action.

In years past there was a climbing gym / volleyball club that held a Burningman bash in midwinter. Was it City Beach? They cranked up the heat and you were on playa again.

Maybe you could break out some heat lamps and luau music?
