Getting ready for my first time
Getting ready for my first time
Never thought I'd be posting that topic on a forum. Anyway, I'm getting ready to come to my first Burning Man in 2009, along with a bunch of other virgins and some 2nd-timers. We're trying to read as much of the forum and FAQs as we can, and doing a lot of planning now, in the hopes of being a little less hopeless than we would be otherwise. I've read a good chunk of the board already; you folks are really helpful. I'm really looking forward to this.

something with gusto, something with pizzazz, something that says "Hey, i'm going to participate in life to the fullest and have no regrets"
you are now "Herschel"
run with it.

Good lord, does my ethnicity show through the internet? Was it perhaps the well-ordered first post that demonstrated I am German/Norweigan? Very well, Herschel it is. Any man who can discover infrared radiation is alright by me, and I bet wooden shoes are pretty comfortable, once you get used to them.
Anyway, yeah, good to be here. I think this is going to be a really good time. As per one of the first replies, vegans aren't big on bacon, but we are, by remarkable coincidence, pretty big on vodka. Okay if I just bring a double ration of that?

Better than walking in mud or sewage. And if you ever have to protest a president's policies...draco880 wrote:and I bet wooden shoes are pretty comfortable, once you get used to them.
