Hey there, welcome to eplaya!
WOW volunteering on your virgin trip; and such an important service as well, commendable. You'll no doubt have a great first burn.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

I don't know how many members of the Black Rock City Volenteer Firefighters are on this board. I know a couple of the medics are. I'm an ex-ESD member (okay, Pred says I'm always a member, but I'm not active) so I may be able to help with very rudimentary questions.

Ummm, ok. I'll go first. If your patient has a scalp bleed, do you:theCryptofishist wrote:I don't know how many members of the Black Rock City Volenteer Firefighters are on this board. A. Shave and prep them, then sew the Lac shut thereby negating the need to take a costly ambulance ride to the hospital.
B. Apply a TK around the neck to staunch the flow of blood.
C. Cauterize the would with your partners cigarette lighter.
D. Using direct pressure, apply 4x4's and enough kling to make a lovely babushka.
Seriously Roads, welcome to eplaya. As someone who has also dabbled as a jolly volly, I have no doubt you'll have a blast working fire on the playa. I've filled out my vol ap for the medical side of the house, maybe I'll see you out on the playa.
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.
