Playa Dust Wanted

Post by kaykin » Thu Jan 22, 2009 4:43 pm

Hello, I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I am an art student at the Rhode Island School of Design and I need to get ahold of a little bit of playa dust for one of my projects. I don't need much, about a half a 35mm film container or so. I'm making a memory capsule for one of my projects that I'm working on and I would like to put a bit of dust in the middle of it.

Thank you for your time!

Speaking of dust, after I packed up my tent and my two bags at the end of the week last year, I could swear they were a good twenty pounds heavier. And this was without most of the food I had brought and eaten. I can only guess that it was because of the dust, but it felt to me way heavier than I thought the dust could possibly be. But I suppose everything was coated with it. Maybe I was also much more tired than when I arrived, but... not that tired.

Yeah, I remember how much dust I accidentally brought home with me as well. I found a few things the other day that I had taken to Burning Man with me and I was shocked at just how much dust was still on them.

It's wonderful how when you open up your BM tubs every year before heading back, they have that Playa smell. It's one of my favorite moments of the year sniffing the dust on my lawn chair and knowing I'll be back home soon.

Have a seat in my van and I'll turn the air conditioning on for you. You should be able to get a small jars amount, once you scrape the dust off your face.

I was looking through some BM tubs the otherday looking for something, and in the bottom of this one tube was filled with playa dust, just had to run my fingers through it for old times sake.
So if you still need some let me know.

The BLM called and they want their playa dust back. They say with the constant removal of playa dust the playa will soon be dust free.. and that would be wrong. Remember, removing playa dust is theft from the federal govt. you will be sent to Gitmo!

I have a little jar of playa dust on a table in my living room. Occasionally I pop the cork and take a big whif....ahhh..
