Those figures have been massaged pretty well. How could they be relevant or even accurate when Obama won a majority of the popular vote? Something doesn't compute. The only part that makes any sense to me is the murder rate considering that rate is always higher in big cities. JK is right. This is a rehash of an old internet myth. Joseph Olson of Hamline (not Hemline!) University did not author the analysis, and it was about Bush vs. Gore, not Obama vs. McCain. Just for the record, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Sta ... tion,_2008, Obama won 28 states (plus DC plus one Nebraska vote) for 365 electoral votes, and McCain won 22 states for 173 electoral votes.
