That tag movie of Iso's makes me cringe...yet you can't look away. It's even worse than the Burger King one he posted a long time back with Ronald McDonald being iced in a drive-by....

Your order MAY have completed.

I would like to get a refund of $60 due to your server generating the above message. I got this message at 10:00am I was among the first 250 orders in line.. I was DEFIANTLY WELL with in the first 9000 tickets. According to the message above, it APPEARED that my order went through. When I called to check the status of my purchase, later that day, the rep on the other end of the phone stated that my order HAD NOT completed.
When I went to purchase tickets again, it was too late as the first 9000 tickets were already sold. I feel I am deserving of a refund of $60 as your servers did not take my order when in fact I was VERY MUCH in the right position to get 2 of the first 9000 tickets.

"Samantha's"response from the BORG:
In response to your support request, SAMANTHA of Burning Man Tickets writes:

Hello Mike,

Unfortunately, your request has been denied and we cannot authorize a refund at this time. I do understand your frustration however the issues you were experiencing were out of our control.

It's funny how pissed people can get. It's about the principal that a computerized line didn't work properly? This is NOT a standard business that they are trying to get every penny they can out of. They are selling these tickets below their cost to help out people who have trouble affording higher priced tickets.

Good business practice is typically to accommodate a customer in this situation. The reason business do this isn't because it's "right", it's because they are hoping they will make more money from you or word of mouth. Burningman isn't a standard business and has no real reason to sell below cost tickets to anyone who claims they got "screwed".

Does it suck, assuming your story is true? Of course it sucks. You should feel bad for yourself for about 3 seconds and get over it. It sounds like you can afford higher priced tickets, so let someone else have the cheap ones. I've paid full price for tickets, I've got the cheapest and I even missed the cheapest because of firewall problems connecting to their weird set-up. You really make yourself out to sound like a lunatic when you make such a big deal out of this. This is clearly not "bait and switch". You know they sell out right away and not everyone who tries is going to get them. Sure, they are responsible for the problem that let someone else get the cheap tickets, but they don't have to rectify that. That's just how it is. Sometimes things work out and sometimes they don't.

thursday night, friday night and most of today until i could actually contact someone, let them know what happened, and get them to come to the station and sign an affidavit.

i shit you not....

it was'nt the sleeping on bare cement, or the usual sadistic treatment, it was the fact that i was missing the action here on e-playa that really pissed me off.

Simon -

I researched your problem and found some solutions. Like you I rarely carry ID.

Did you know that not 75 miles from BM was where this law was challenged to the US Supreme Court. Dudley Hiibel - didnt prduce ID, and got the shit beat out of him by Winnemuccas finest. The case eventually made it to the US Supreme Court to be heard, The outcome 5 to 4- carry ID or go to jail. Now isnt that fucked up?

What the fuck? I can't find any law in California (or anywhere else in the US) that requires us to carry id. Only if operating a motor vehicle on public roadways.

So can someone point me to this law that I have to carry my id at all times. (see I'm a nudist... no pockets! My granddaughter doesn't have ID, will they arrest her? She's only 7 years old for christ sake.

(I read that papersplease and that seemed for non-residents have to carry ID, even passports)

you see, i did have a warrant for outstanding unlicensed op motor vehicle.

however i was not driving at time.

when taken into custody and finally had to produce someone with id who would id me they then arrested me again

the first probable cause was bullshit and i'm going to fight it even if it costs me...

the asswipe said he "smelled" marijuana near me.....what a crock...i had none on me and had not been smoking anytime recently.

i guess it's my word against his, in which case i'm fucked.

I thought we had a right, and sometimes the obligation to be assholes. It's the American Way. Called fucking freedom.

Please what are the criminal laws that were broken? I don't know of any laws saying I have to be able to produce ID, other then when operating a Motor Vehicle. Perhaps you might contact an ASA or MPP attorney if you think you are being singled out for your political views.

There is also NO law requiring a person to have picture ID to fly. TSA, FAA make it sound so, but it aint so.

You must have "Equivelant" security if you dont have ID, so that means more security, and will take you hours more to find the supervisor that understands the law and can pass you through security.

what a fucking drag though....

Being a "known commodity" to the local cops ain't a good thing.

My ex used to visit friends in this little town, and the friend had a CB radio. He'd call the ex on occasion when he was on his way to visit, and he said, "I just was listening to the radio, and the cops know you're here and are watching you." Yikes.

Of course, he was the kind that would tell the judge, "And you don't have a law degree!" Not a way to make friends, as they say.

Once he was stopped for violation of the seat belt BUT he was driving a pickup truck, and pickups were excluded from the seat belt laws (because the Speaker of the House had a pickup and didn't want to wear a seat belt. lol).

The long and short of it was that he was actually convicted of a seat belt violation despite the fact that he had a public defender.

He of course wanted to fight the charge because he didn't break a law,, and the public defender said to him: "Hey, I have to WORK in this town. Not me. No thank you."

In summary, he was in and out of that court (and jail) several times in a year. I think he finally decided to stay away.

Ever think about moving out of Rochester?

Good luck, by the way, with your driver's license issue.
