it's really kind of odd.... went in for hip replacement surgery, couldn't get a drink to save my soul while hospitalized.

came home, beer was available, but it just didn't taste the same.

had some beers at a local bar, didn't like the feeling.

went out with JT on friday evening, had a sip of her wine, just didn't taste good.

and to top it off, i've saved a buttload of money abstaining.

hell, i like the vicodin less than alcohol.

only using tylenol only for pain relief.

um taste has changed a little, effects are not as pleasant.

nope, just one large as zipper scar on the right butt cheek.

Joel - I had a similar thing happen after a surgery once. Everything tasted different including alcohol, not as enjoyable and being tipsy felt different. It took about a month but slowly wore off....one of the nurse practitioners said something about one of the inactive ingredients in one of the drugs (I think an anasthetic) I was given being fat soluble and that it would take a while to work its way through my system. Apparently only small % of people experience this side-effect.

Not sure if it's the same thing...but maybe time will heal? Or you could do a bunch of fat-burning exercise....three prizes for the price of one hip replacement! New hip, saving money on liquor and losing fat.

I met those cool ewe hanging out here this weekend and she took me back to her place and told me all kinds of stories about how human males try to tickle her with their lil things. She prefers the real thing, like what us mules got hanging.
