Barbarian Camp

Barbierians?

"Barbarian" is mostly a mythical word. The "barbarians" that the Romans referred to included Goths, Celts, oh yeah those of the Persian Empire, an older civilization that Rome.

But today, this word conjures a different connotation: the Dionysian as opposed to the Apollonian (and we'll have room for both in our camp)!

I like to consider myself a Dionysian/Bacchant barbarian
I didn't really think there were many other kinds.
An Apollonian barbarian would be sort of ironic, as Apollo is indicitive of order and thus civilization

I like to think of myself, or, my ancestors at least, the classic barbarian referred to.........

Yes, that's what the "as opposed to" signifies.

We will also be developing a civilized Roman camp as well, to portray the Apollonian alternative...

two camps .... how will they differ?

will each have their own religion, for instance?

will one camp have better weapons or tactics?

will the camps mingle in peaceful ways?

will it be possible to be a barbarian one day, and civilized the next?

how civilized - or uncivilized - is burningman, in general?

am i asking stupid questions?

a few more questions:

are you leaning towards something historical? or a free-wheeling anything goes kind of barbarianism?

will forks be allowed?

will there be a penalty for romans who look more like ancient greeks? or barbarians who look like conan, our governator?

speaking of punishment .... will you have a rack? will all prisoners be killed, or incarcerated? will the geneva convention apply?
