Bike Flame/Fire Element Idea
Bike Flame/Fire Element Idea
I want to add a fire element to my bike. Can anyone share how to build a propane (I'm presuming) burner.
I'm not looking for a "propane popper" that I read about on another thread.
Conceptually it will be propane canisters (from a stove or lantern) unless there is a next size up that is not the 5 gallon tanks. It will need some sort of valve (on/off), some tubing, and then?????? I've heard that you can use steel wool at the end to spread out the flame.
Anyways, if anyone can share plans to create this that would be great.
Thanks!

I built a chopper bicycle, a few years back.... and utilized a weed burner for fire effects. Kept my back nice and warm. They sell em at Home Depot and Harbor freight.. The only drawback was toting a heavy propane canister.. had it duct taped to my front forks.
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

But Boijoy, what if the flame thrower is powered by, well....Hooch instead, ya know, some good tuckey squeezins. Would you not want to partake then?Boijoy wrote:( note to self ) stay clear of Hooch and his home made propane flame thrower..
Excuse me Ma'am, your going to feel a small prick.

I saw a couple at the last burn, they had a similar set up as Hooch is looking for, as well as a kind of metal sculpture on top to dissipate the flames. Hooch, it looked like they had an adapter screwed atop a 2.5? pd tank with possibly an adj. on/off wheel valve, probably flexible hose ran up through black pipe that had the dissipator mounted atop.
Here's a link I found, I am also interested in doing something like this but I want something cool up top, metal skull or something similar.

Good idears and links so far. Thanks SailMan. TomServo - Sick Chop, Meng!
I think the 1 gallon is about right (size of a milk jug, I guess)...God I love "Jug"...all I think about is wine and boobies!
Anyhoo...so, that and some tubing. Some fittings, a valve (hmmm...gonna have to work with that one). And then, yeah..something to play out the flame.
I wonder how long I'm be able to run off a gallon sized canister...Obviously depends on how much flame, I get moving.
Oh, and if someone sees something burning a little outta place this year...no worries, it's no that jackass who pre-maturely torched the man two year go...it's just me, up in smoke!
