Jaded old timer's thread.
Here's where you can suggest T-shirt logos, whine about the old days, or just plain bitch about "those young whippersnapperavers".

"...siege engine mentality." LaChat, you're my new hero.LaChatNoir wrote:So I should stop with drawing up the plans for the 30' pumpkin howitzer and the trebuchet, huh?
Shit... Tough thing for a guy with a siege engine mentality.
Can you make (and bring) a trebuchet that flings giant fireballs?
We'd have to figure out what to fling them at, of course.
I'd chip in for it.
Sorry Old Geezers (oops! I meant "Old Timers"); I'll bow out now too.
"Now go away before I taunt you a second time!"
...but it seemed like such a good idea at the time...

In '98 I launched a life-sized, wooden, white cotton batting covered, kerosine soaked (and lit) sheep out of a trebuchet. It went about 100ft in the air and about 300ft down range. It made the goddamnest loud WHOOSH sound when the acceleration increased the air supply to the fuel. I was dressed as Santa Clause, of course.RingO'Fire wrote: Can you make (and bring) a trebuchet that flings giant fireballs?
