any body want this MV
I am running out of room and my bike is going to have to go. Before I cut it up I wanted to see if anyone was interested in giving it a new home.

This is trueYou already have enough crap in yer yard.
However, since there are now at least two other volunteers within reasonable driving distance, I hereby place myself at the BOTTOM of the list -- last resort if nobody else is able to take this project on after all. (My magic number, as always, is 1/4-20 -- as in 1/4 inch bolts with NC thread. With NyLock nuts.)
I don't remember seeing that thing move. Maybe I have, but with the sensory overload I may have forgotten. I only remember it sitting in Mike's side yard, and all I could think of was "That thing MUST get back on the Playa!".
Yer right.. it belongs with someone like you. I really don't have to resources to promise a return to the playa. I would much rather have Elliot make sure it gets home. Plus you run that awesome camp with cool shit to park it next to.Elliot wrote:

I pick #13 as my number with Elliot being the recipient.
I pick #7 as the number Elliot forgot to pick while putting himself at the bottom.
I wish I could afford to get that thing. It is such an awesome work of art.

I did not forget. I picked 1/4-20. In Kinetic Sculpture Racing, some of us most rabidly active folks have been annointed "seer", as in visionary or guru. Each seer picks a number, the purpose of which is still secret even to us. I picked 1/4-20, because I use such bolts so much in my konstructions.I pick #7 as the number Elliot forgot to pick while putting himself at the bottom.

I salute you, Burnerboy33 (Mike) for passing this MV on to a new home, so that we all (49.900 of us) can enjoy seeing it on the Playa again!
The same thing happens from time to time in Kinetic Sculpture Racing. Usually, the Kinetic Kontraption is promptly gifted to a new team, has happened here. But sometimes it sits abandoned for a while, nobody having storage space or mechanical ability, and I have rescued two of those. It's simply the right thing to do, as it allows more people to participate.
Now we are waiting to see what you are building as your replacement!

Lucky #14 (lack of a better name) is now alive and well in RENO! She's been stripped and will be bead blasted and then put back together. Structurally i dont think i'm changing anything. I wanted to powder coat it with a UV effect has anyone tried that out there? My thought is it would be killer but i'm wondering if the cummulative dust build up would render is useless.
Any thoughts?
BurnerBoy: Your gift is amazing, the thought and time you have spent on this is clear and evident. You are a true burner, I hope to return the favor by expanding on your creation and some day pass #14 on along to her 3rd owner so that she may see the playa every year.
The year you built it my buddy camped across the street from you and was amazed by it, he pretty much shat himself when I rolled into town with it on saturday night. With your gift you have given me a renewed enthusiasm for the event. I've run a theme camp for 4 years now and I was burnt out completely, now I have a new challenge to Pound Playa with my Steel Stagecoach!
I am very excited to put my mark on her and give back to the community that has given me so much.
