Obama touted as the answer to Israel's impasse
* Jason Koutsoukis in Jerusalem

FORGET the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Barack Obama may instead be called upon to use all his skills as a mediator to resolve the Israeli political conflict.
A week after elections that saw the Kadima party of the Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, win the most votes but Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party claim victory because right-wing parties won more votes overall, the country is waiting to see who will lead the next government.
The problem for Netanyahu is that if he forms a government with all the right-wing parties, it will appear so extreme that few international governments will want to deal with him.
It's not hard to see why.
Netanyahu's largest would-be coalition partner on the right is Avigdor Lieberman, the Soviet-born leader of Israel Our Home, who is under investigation for money laundering and tax fraud.
One of Lieberman's main policies is to force Arabs born in Israel to swear an oath of loyalty to the state or face being stripped of their birthrights and expelled.
Another of Netanyahu's would-be coalition partners is National Union, a party that wants Israeli Arabs expelled to places like Turkey and Venezuela.
With friends like that, what Netanyahu actually needs is to form a government with Livni.
The way Netanyahu sees things, Livni, and most of her party, are former members of Likud after all, so surely there is a way for the two of them to work out an agreement that sees him as prime minister and her as foreign minister?
Yet why should Livni join a coalition in which her party has the most seats, yet has her relegated to a second-string role?
For the moment, Livni is standing her ground, and insisting that she will not join a government under Netanyahu's leadership.
The only compromise that Livni will accept is an arrangement that sees establishment of a rotation agreement that would see the prime ministership shared between herself and Netanyahu.
Hence the stalemate which now confronts the President, Shimon Peres, who must decide by the end of the week which political leader he will formally ask to form a government.
Enter Obama.
According to a report in yesterday's Jerusalem Post, the US President is being mooted as the man who could sit Netanyahu and Livni down in a room and get them to shake hands.
The report suggests that Obama is keen to play a behind-the-scenes role to ensure that a unity government is formed.
If and when Israelis will see a new government sworn in remains an open question.
In the meantime, Ehud Olmert, another man under a corruption cloud who announced his resignation as Prime Minister six months ago, continues to lead.

I also block his posts, but I really don't like this situation. I mean this is Burning Man eplaya. Not IN YOUR FACE POLITICS! I am also Jewish and he offends me constantly. He never wanted to discuss anything, he only wanted to say his bullshit and ALWAYS have the last word. I don't think he has a life outside of this place.jkisha wrote:There never is a point to his posts. He is known for name calling. He is a pathetic bigot. He has gotten you to take the bait. so much for warm fuzzy feelings about Burning Man eplaya, prior to blocking him I considered not logging in here just so I wouldn't have to see what bullshit he came up with that day.
What I really don't understand though is WHY? Why not keep the arguements to a minimun. I am sure we can all find something to disagree with and sometimes it is important to discuss things. But we should only really argue about things we can change, like leveling sand dunes or not, late night music, shirt cocking... etc... It seems that this is his personal posting board for all things anti Jewish and being a jew it starts to be a bother. There are pages and pages where he has 90% of the posts on the page, one after the other.. bullshit.. (shut the fuck up)

More reality for the thread:
Conference of Israeli war on Gaza urges to sue Israel for warcrimes

Special Report: Palestine-Israel Conflicts
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2009- ... 829073.htm
RABAT, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- An international conference wrapped up in Morocco Sunday, calling for suing Israeli civil and military officials for "war crimes and crimes against humanity" during Israel's war against the Gaza Strip last month.
The two-day conference, convened by the Rabat-based Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization under the theme of "Israel: War Crimes and Genocide", urged to prepare a "complete file" on the Israeli war crimes to lodge a complaint before international bodies.
"Israel is fully responsible for the mass destruction, by its forces, of education, science, culture and public service buildings, houses, hospitals, prayer places, and UN institutions" in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, said the Rabat Declaration adopted by the conference late Sunday.
The document also called for setting up a 12-member working group of international lawyers, representatives of international human rights groups and physicians witnessing the Israeli crimes to prepare a file to be presented to the International Court of Justice for an "advisory opinion."
Participants said they will submit the Rabat Declaration to the follow-up meeting in Geneva, Switzerland on April 25-27.
Israel's three-week offensive against the Gaza Strip ended on Jan. 18, leaving over 1,400 people killed and more than 5,500 injured.

This is classic of one that prefers to live in a state of denial.
Israel has murdering war criminals running it's country.
They even blocked journalists from broadcasting the truth of what the IDF were doing in Gaza and the Israeli citizens did not know, nor did they want to know what the truth was.
Yes, people like this disgust me and I shall talk about it as long as people that want to live in a state of denial exist.
And it really is too bad if you guys dont like it, after all, I had to and still have to read your bullshit and am not supposed to say anything about it.

This is what I have been known for since forever.
I always tell/post the truth no matter who doesn't like it nor likes the way I do it.
Choose the JK route and use that plonker and remain ignorant.
I am not one that lives in the dark. I take reality head on.
You people crack me up. You come here in this thread titled "israel, judaism, jews and zionism" a few people post the truth about it and yall get bent outta shape and start crying and all.
If you cant hack it, I guess that's just too bad. after all this is the "israel, judaism, jews and zionism" thread.
ISRAEL HAS MURDERING BASTARDS AT THE WHEEL AND THAT NEEDS TO BE STOPPED. and i will say it anywhere I please. whether it's here on eplaya, on the playa, on another social network, anywhere I please.
Plain and simple.
Oh, and by the way, the pic at the top, that's an old art piece of mine.
Pretty cool huh?

This is a feature on eplaya, I didn't mean you blocking him from your mind!
It's the the second and third of the three smiles with the plus sign underneath his avatar to the left of every post. Just click on the ignore and block ones and you will never be plagued by his posts again. Whatever you do DON'T CLICK ON THE FIRST ONE--it will add him to your buddy list!!!

DVDBurner is RIGHT! Everything he says is correct and there is no other view any REASONABLE person might have. We all should thank him for helping us find our way in this world. Ok, now we have agreed! You have made your point very well and we can only hope and pray that things get fixed over there. Since we can't fix it here at eplaya!
Thank you very much for making eplaya a more enjoyable experience for everyone, less negativity and more of your party style. Hands up, move them feet.. turn up the music.

Why is it people, usually in vast amounts, dont like to hear the truth?
It does not hurt as much as people make it out to be.
And yes, by my doing what I do, more and more people comment less out of ignorance because they know I will call them on it every fucking time.
Yep, that's right, I want to see less ignorant people here on eplaya and this style is the way i shall accomplish it.

i'm not saying i agree with all of the Taliban but you need to understand their point of view.
The U.S. created the Taliban just as they and Israel created Hamas.
The Taliban and Hamas are protecting their territories.
their people want them to protect them in most cases from America and Israel.
Hamas unlike the Taliban is a democratically elected government like it or not.
Everyone is to respect the peoples decision if they are to respect democracy.
I did not make these rules. I have no idea why Israel and the United States have such a hard time following it.

from what i have read they may be allowed to become part of the government, but never to control it. i hope something gets worked out, and we get the hell out of there ... but who knows what it will be ...
and i find it terribly amusing that they would have such a champion in someone like you, whose lifestyle they abhor ... do you have any idea who you are defending????? democratically elected or not, i don't care. live under their rule for awhile, then come back here and tell us how preferable their government is to ours. please .... go.

What is your beef with Al Jazeera? I get news from all over, but if you read my posts you'd know that. besides, I dont see anything wrong with Al Jazeera, neither does Dave Marash or David Frost. they have a ton of reputable credible reporters and were the only news organization that actually had reporters on the ground in Gaza when Israel did their invasion that CNN, NBC, CBS and FOX could rely on for information out of the area.
Again, what is your beef with Al Jazeera? Are they not accurate?
now as far as your question, "where is my proof"?
Unlike you I read ALL news sources, and even if you dont, all you have to do is read just a few news source such as Reuters and you will see, America is fucking up shit in Afghanistan and people there are pissed off.
With you and only you Little will I not take the time out to explain everything to you because it is obvious you seem to be a little slow and dont do any research or just prefer to stay in a state of denial.
But i have given you enough, even in this thread to go on.
Use what i have already posted.

Sorry, i just had to address this because the ignorance from this woman is just too blatant. i'm not being insulting, I am just stating the fact. She is showing that she really doesn't know what is going on.
like the Bush administration and karzai, who by the way worked for Unicol, is doing a much better job. I bet you dont even know the real reason why America is in Afghanistan in the first place for anyway.
This is not because of the Taliban, it's because of the drones the U.S. has flying over Afghanistan dropping bombs aimlessly over people.littleflower wrote:

i read all over the place. i take everything with a grain of salt. and i am absolutely flabbergasted at the amount of information out there.
the idea that anyone can "know" the "facts" ... and find the world's problems to be always the fault of the U.S. and israel ... well, you are a simple minded ninny, and not worth my time any more than i am worth yours.
but i do enjoy having the opportunity to point this out again...
you posted bad info from al jazeera .... and weren't even remotely interested when i found it to be false.DVDBurner wrote:littleflower wrote:DVD Burner wrote: Oh and speaking of India, they just announced this morning that they are severing all ties with Israel.
i am still waiting for the link for this one, oh great master of all facts. i just googled india-israel, and not a thing came up about severing ties.
You can check Al Jazeera. they are still broadcasting that. I would send the link but you'd have to sit through the whole broadcast.
If you want to sit through it, I'll gladly send you the link.

Ah ha ha ha. Good one.
They did broadcast that but i forgot to get the link.
lets see if I can find it, but as far as your view of Al Jazeera....it's incredibly weak at best. i mean, if that's all you got, and you dont know of others that have killed their ties with Israel yet, you are definitely living under a rock.
You did not hear about the PM of Turkey yet?
Just for starters.

Ok, I have'nt found the link from Al Jazeera yet but it is OBVIOUS you haven't looked up a damn thing.
If you did you'd find that severing ties with Israel is all the big deal in India.
It's all over Google: http://www.radianceweekly.com/143/3241/ ... srael.html
In fact, why don't I just do as I said I was gonna do before when I told you last that you do no research and not do it for you.
Stay lazy in the head on your own.
I've posted enough facts in this thread for you to access.

i have no problem with al jazeera, DVD ... they are a news source, and no more reliable than any other. i read what they say, and if i find something compelling, i'll look to other sources for corroboration. i never blindly trust any one source, nor do i start with an opinion and simply look for others who agree with me.
but you, you start with "the US and the jews are at the root of all of the world's problems" and go from there. anyone who agrees is telling the truth; any other viewpoint is a lie.
i only wish the world were so simple.

hate to disappoint you but....uuummmmm......
the U.S. and Israel are really doing a great job at the moment fucking everybody in the world up.
This is a fact.
We would not be in the mess we are in if it were not for the LIES of Israel and America and the unnecessary killings of innocent people America and Israel has committed.
Dont blame Hamas for Israels lies, blame Israel.
Israel has broken every truce and cease fire every time and has lied about it.
Hamas has in every case retaliated against Israel.
These are the facts.
Dont shoot the messenger, nor the message, shoot the creator of the problem.

if anyone wants me to post from only Israeli/Jewish sites, I can do that also.
How about this site for starters: http://www.btselem.org/English/
or I can also use Haaretz.com
either way, the facts still remain the facts.
Israel has been lying and murdering innocent people in ways so disgusting, not even the Nazis have done it.
Well, maybe the Americans have done worse.
After all DIME is only made in America.

IDF: Hamas seized unexploded ordnance fired during Gaza op
By Haaretz Service
Tags: white phosphorous, hamas
The Israel Defense Forces said Tuesday that Hamas has commandeered a large cache of unexploded weapons fired by Israel into the Gaza Strip during its offensive last month.
The cache had disappeared while under guard by Hamas officials. United Nations experts had planned to dispose safely of the stockpile, which includes aircraft bombs and white phosphorous shells.
UN officials discovered earlier this week that most of the contents of a Gaza warehouse being guarded by Hamas were missing. Israel Defense Force spokesman Peter Lerner said the cache had been "commandeered by Hamas."
"We were told of the disappearance of the bombs, our understanding is that Hamas took them," he said.
UN officials said that they were urgently seeking out the location of the weapons and calling for their return. They said some of the unexploded devices were extremely volatile and could easily be set off by accident.
"We are anxious to get the return of this ordnance. It's clearly extremely dangerous and needs to be disposed of in a safe manner," Richard Miron, the senior UN spokesman in Jerusalem said. "This is our primary concern."
A UN team trained to remove and destroy unexploded ordnance has been operating in the Gaza Strip for three weeks, but its work is being held up because Israel has not approved the entry of its equipment nor an area for storing and neutralizing ordnance.
For now some of the latter, located by the Palestinian police, is being stored in locations that are dangerously close to population centers in Rafah, Khan Yunis and Gaza City. The team is waiting for permission from the IDF to use two safe areas to dispose of the ordnance.
Despite the delays, the team has made some progress that does not depend on equipment, especially in searching out unexploded ordnance ? many of which have already been collected by Hamas officials.
White phosphorus bombs found in Gaza City and in the northern Gaza Strip last month and placed in a lot near police headquarters in Gaza City, near bombs with a collective weight of 7,500 kilograms, were neutralized by being submerged in water and covered with sand.

Sorry, i had to re-read this several times. It just so pisses me off how people in Israel or anywhere on the planet can accept this. Israel provokes shit just so can use Vicious shit like this.
These kind of weapons are not used for self defense.
These are sick people that use this shit, but guess what? now Hamas has at least some of them.
This is why I say FUCK ISRAEL:

IDF Under Scrutiny
Is Israel Using Experimental Weapons in Gaza?
By JONATHAN COOK
Nazareth.
Concerns about Israel’s use of non-conventional and experimental weapons in the Gaza Strip are growing, with evasive comments from spokesmen and reluctance to allow independent journalists inside the tiny enclave only fuelling speculation.
The most prominent controversy is over the use of shells containing white phosphorus, which causes horrific burns when it comes into contact with skin. Under international law, phosphorus is allowed as a smokescreen to protect soldiers but treated as a chemical weapon when used against civilians.
The Israeli army maintains that it is using only weapons authorised in international law, though human rights groups have severely criticised Israel for firing phosphorus shells over densely populated areas of Gaza.
But there might be other unconventional weapons Israel is using out of sight of the watching world.
One such munition may be Dime, or dense inert metal explosive, a weapon recently developed by the US army to create a powerful and lethal blast over a small area.
The munition is supposed to still be in the development stage and is not yet regulated. There are fears, however, that Israel may have received a green light from the US military to treat Gaza as a testing ground.
“We have seen Gaza used as a laboratory for testing what I call weapons from hell,â€
